Audra says she’s coming back to Broadway!

It's all in the link the OP didn't post.

Where did you hear this (besides the voices in your head)?

"

Voices in my head? Why are you so rude? What’s the point?

Re

I'm hoping it's Dolly!
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

The point is, when you start a thread based on something you read on the internet, you include a link to where you read that, so we have a nice thing called context.

And don't even use the "it's right there at the top of the page!" defense — things don't stay up there in the headlines because they roll off after some time.

In the OP's defense, I knew where it came from because I read the article earlier today.

Re

My reading is that she is in talks about a specific project but doesn’t want to say what it is until it’s officially confirmed and/or announced. If it is Dolly, I predict we won’t hear for a while because they won’t want to disrupt current ticket sales (which if Telecharge is transparent actually look like they are going to be fine after a couple more slower weeks. The advance seems to be building in the warmer months).
Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

Re

Anything is possible. She would be a perfect "Dolly". In the meanwhile, I am traveling north to see her in concert with the Los Angeles Opera in May. A few days later, here at home with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. And in April next year, back north with the Los Angeles Symphony. I love Audra McDonald.

Here is a link to her website, if you're interested in her touring schedule.

I didn’t use any defense. I just asked why he was being rude to me.. that’s all. I didn’t know about the link. My apologies for that.

Qolbinau, that is how I read it also.

It’s clear she is in early talks for a project. I, too, hope it’s Dolly because she’d be incandescent.

Re

I never felt like she wasn't. Unless it was to semi-retire to focus on her family and her infant child for a while, I feel like the most prolific Broadway actress of all time still has many years and many shows left in her...

Re

Is it strange I hope it isn't DOLLY? Don't get me wrong, I love her and would buy that ticket in a heartbeat. But I would be thrilled to see her in anything and I like that DOLLY is opening the door to older Bway legends less likely to have a starring vehicle, let alone one so opulent.

Re

I’m not Audra, but if someone blamed me and my pregnancy for their show closing, I wouldn’t want to work with them again.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

My reaction was the inverse: If I were someone who blamed her and her pregnancy for his show closing (not to mention with a reputation for holding and acting on grudges), I wouldn't work with her again.

Some folks here have short (or no) memories.

I agree. I hope it's a new production.

I had the exact same thought right away. But I know how quickly this board can descend into speculation of feuds/scandal, so I didn't go there. Hard to know if Rudin actually blames her or took that position legally so he could get the insurance money. Either way, I would imagine they'd work together again, just perhaps not so soon.

But as I said, I hope it's something else.
