Barrett Foa was not there. Either was John Tartaglia.

Yay! Great news! (and maybe the ticket prices will be a little lower?)
Foa is in NCIS: Los Angeles so he is in LA filming.
Im not 100% as to why, But John was in L.A as well.
Him and Belcon are the only members from the original cast that couldnt make it.
And someone was insinuating that Johnnys leave from Shrek might have something to do with Avenue Q reopening. I highly highly doubt that.
Johnny has moved on and he would be giving up a BIG salary if he transferred off broadway. I just dont see that happening, not to mention Johnny didnt leave Shrek he still has a contract with them. This is just a temporary leave of absence.
John has his own children's TV show called "Johnny & The Sprites" that has been on the air for a few years now. Natalie Venetia Belcon is a regular on the show, too.
Well, John is supposed to go back to Shrek in December, so it probably has nothing to do with Avenue Q's off-Broadway opening. And who knows how much longer when he goes back he'll stay because he's supposed to come and do a show at my local community college in May.
I don't want to go back and read this whole thing, but I saw the notice for this on the Equity site this evening and remembered someone asking what kind of "pay cut" there would be. It's paying $1019.70 minimum, plus $80 extra per week for the first 13 weeks.
Know I'm a bit late into this thread, but I was lucky enough to be at both performances on closing day (I won the lotto for the matinee, and had bought a ticket in the last row of the mez for the actual closing). I also, thanks to the kindness of a very nice woman I met in line, got to go to the closing party.
So I can say for a fact that almost NOONE knew this was going to happen. The actors were totally taken by surprise (several already have other commitments), and my friend in the orchestra had no clue either. They kept it very hush-hush. And in fact, when they first started making comments that it wasn't closing, everyone laughed. We all thought it was a joke...

What about Jed Resnick? I heard that he's leaving the Rent tour this fall, so maybe they offered him a part. And I also heard from someone in the closing cast that they cut some tracks. She was offered a role, then the next day it got cut.
Can you elaborate, elphabalives2?
The only tracks that are able to be cut are those of the actors who come into the mezzanine with puppets during "The Money Song" while the principals are mingling in the orchestra, but those people are the off-stage understudies. Even if they decided not to use them within the show anymore, they'd still be covering off-stage.
I know that they are cutting down the number of female understudies to two (I've heard,) so maybe that's what you're referring to?

Yes, the person I heard that from was one of the female understudies. I'm glad to know that no other parts are being cut!
Is there a link or something that gives out the student rush info?

IDK if it's student rush or general rush
It's front row for $26.50 sold when the Box ofice opens. I would assume 2 per ID if its student rush
