Wow. That is actually really smart. I'm glad I'll have a shot at seeing it.

Just got home from the matinee (I'm upstate) and this is the perfect ending to a perfect day.
Jeff Marx was there, looking like a proud papa.
But is tall enough Chita?

If it's the ROOMS stage, I would imagine it could fit, but I don't feel like it's high enough. They don't seem like they have any fly space.
it isn't the Rooms stage. Rooms was in stage 2, seating 360.
Wow. I thought I saw the show for the first and last time at its 2 p.m. performance today. Guess I'm wrong!
I have a feeling this show will be in the Broadway/Off-Broadway area for a long time. Who knows, in a few years maybe another Broadway house will open up and they will transfer BACK to Broadway, that would really be something. I am happy this show can continue to grace the New York area. I hope that Broadwayworld will post its grosses, I'd really like to see how it does.
Cool! Kinda random...but a pretty cool idea! I think thats smart since a lot of people still like it and aren't ready to see it go. I honestly never saw it but now I may consider seeing it after hearing these past few weeks about how great a show it is!
Chenofan, agreed. The show never really looked quite up my alley, and there's always been something limited engagement that I've wanted to see more at any given time, and you can't see everything, but I'm glad I have a second chance to see this show now. After seeing all the love its fans have for it I'm too intrigued now to not try to student rush it. If it turns out I was right and it's not my thing I'll just take the loss.

What about the show do you think won't be up your alley, Rudy2?
I'm not really impressed with the songs from the score I have heard, including "For Now," and the humor from the clips I've seen/scenarios I've read seems a little less than subtle for my taste. I always believe that things are worth giving a chance when they seem original and interesting, and "Avenue Q" clearly is, but between what I already heard/read and other things I wanted to see I never did end up seeing it...at least not yet. :)
To be honest, I am much, much, much more inclined to plays than musicals, although the ones I particularly love (Sweeney Todd especially) I really love. A look at my signature shows it - this month I am finally making it to this summer's big musicals. This summer I was too busy seeing limited engagement plays, and I didn't even get to see all of them that I wanted to or as often as I'd have liked. :)

I am not shy to say that Avenue Q is my favorite Broadway show and very happy it is not closing. Go and see it. I love it and am so happy I could see the last Broadway show which I hope is only for now. I am also happy it is moving to New World Stages which has bathrooms with elevator access so handicapped people can go to the bathroom and they even allow drinks in the theater.
Everything else is only for now except Avenue Q. Avenue Q will run forever.

newayz
re: cast transferring with the show...they didn't even know about the transfer so no deals have been made yet.
Are you sure Capn? If there were rumors a week ago then the cast had to have known something was up.
This is great great great news.
CapNHook - I never paid a dime to see "Shrek." It was free. And at that price, it was too expensive.

You should give it a chance Rudy2, it's a very good show.
I will. :) Especially with this reported $25 student rush.

For anyone who wants to see "My friend" (:P) recorded the final "For Now"

The one that says Full is the whole song (obviously) but very very hard to see.
The Second one is just the final minute of for now but better quality.
The cast pay is at least, but in most cases more than half what the Broadway scale is, and all of the crew positions are
non-union which means about $400 a week with no insurance, days off or benefits.
But, this is common what Off=Broadway used to be, actors and crew need to work other jobs to make ends meet.

Was Barrett Foa there? I haven't heard about him in a while and didn't see him in any of the photos.
