I have tickets for June 10...what do I have to do to get a refund...this has never happened to me before. Guess it is my Sutton curse. I got her understudy in Millie and now this .AAGH!

Not exactly a suprise, but I'm disappointed for everyone involved. Sutton will be back soon I hope. It's too bad for her. Never thought it would close before Brooklyn, though.

bs, you can probably still go before it closes (just call the box office, i'm sure they'll exchange your tickets for any date)

"Maybe it's a clever move, by way of sympathy votes for Sutton come Tony time."

That would definitely be a genius strategic move.

First of all, I just want to say that my thoughts and prayers are with the cast, the creative crew, the backstage crew and the front of the house employees at the time of this devastating news. I am "Astonish[ing]ed" that they did not let the show hold on until Tony time so that LW could find its audience and then after appearing on the Tonys more tourists would have heard of the show.

I only hope and pray that the entire cast goes on tour, to bring the show to America if America won't come to the show. If the tour is nice and long then Sutton can finally come back to New York in a Millie revival. She is, after all, our generation's Carol Channing.

"No two shows are alike in the making. Each show is a living piece of your life in a small unreal world with its own character and integrity; its own new set of memorable experiences and incredible happenings. You begin to love and adapt to its strangeness. Dreams harden into substance. Values come into focus. You wish it would never end. The dream world vanishes like mist before a rising sun; part of you vanishes with it. And back you land in the real world with a thud- fogged, uneasy, jittery, difficult to get along with. There is only one cure. A new show. A new, small unreal world; new visions, experiences, incredible happenings. Again you love it, adapt to it, wish it would never end. But end it does. Another part of you vanishes. That's show business."-Anonymous

bs, i'm sure they'll refund you because it is impossible for you to use your tickets...
but you know what this means, you can go see the light in the piazza. if you don't see that instead i'll be mad at you. here's the website: www.lct.org
seeing as you said with your mom i assume you're a student. you can sign up for studentix, get a $20 ticket to piazza, get your refund from little women and earn money in the process! (you can also get a $20 ticket to dessa rose, but piazza's better)

And somewhere in the world, Betty Buckley is saying:

But I signed a contract to play Marmee! This was the only Broadway company that doesn't know what a horror I am to work with!!!

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

If I found this out yesterday, I would have gone to see it today (if I could have gotten tickets). Now, I will have to wait for the tour.

ap & betty - when I called telecharge, they told me they would not refund my tickets (we have 6 for 05.29) because they "don't know that LW is closing... you need to call them tomorrow, and maybe they'll know by then...

Thanks Aisle, I was thinking about calling tonight...and darcey, I am still bummed about LW but this may turn out to be a pretty kick ass weekend. I just looked at LCT.org and I think I'm gonna do it. Now just comes convincing my mother to invest in a show she has never heard of (Light in the Piazza) I did it with Spelling Bee so I hope I can do it again.

Do it, check out the link in another thread to the songs from the show and let her here that. It is a beautiful show, the score is amazing, if you see it with Bee and DRS you are seeing by far the best shows of this season.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

piazza in my opinion is the best show of the season. you can tell your mother that drs, bee and piazza are all vying for best musical, score, book and director. now that's pretty prestigious, all four! by the time you go piazza will have won best score, it is beautiful. you do not want to miss the performances by clark, o'hara especially and morrison (all tony nominated) and harelik, beresse and uriarte berry, they are all wonderful. and seeing all three you'll be so happy. little women will be playing great on the road, so try not to be too disappointed, and also, pm for some more on little women if you want! i'm open to talk about it!

Come on gang, this is ridiculous. It's a marvelous, charming little show, deseves much better than this. Why not see if we can get them to postpone closing until after the summer. Everybody who's on, let's go to http://www.littlewomenonbroadway.com/ to the blog there and try to get them to keep this wondering show on for a while longer.

That's a great idea. We will start a petition and we will urge the producers to keep the show open and we'll guarantee them that we will promote the show for free and we will promise them that our promotions will bring them SRO.

although i hold the show near to my heart i think it will play better regionally on tour and in community theatres. broadway is not the right venue for this show, and hopefully with maureen's name (not to mention the title) it will see large audiences on tour, and large audiences will se it.. as someone said, "if america won't come to us, we'll go to america." i also think that the whole cast should go on tour.
