I'm crying a little bit over this one! So soon. And on my birthday too...
Hopefully we'll see Sutton back again soon.
Little Women Closes May 22
Wow. I didn't think it would last very long, but this is REALLY quick. I'm sad.
aww it is sad. At least it will live on on tour. Now that it's closing, the whole cast should go on tour

That is VERY sad. I'm sorry for every cast and crew member who works on this.
I don't think this will come as a big surprise to anybody. The show has had pretty low attendance for a while and only garnered one Tony nomination. At least a cast recording was made (always a plus). It will also probably find success on tour, especially since McGovern is reprising her role.

I thought Brooklyn would be first!
Noooooooooooooooooooo.
Sutton, come back!
I'm so sad for the show.. and Sutton..
This isn't surprising but I'm still a bit weepy. I hate these sudden closing notices. I really really hope that Sutton comes back soon!
Who's gonna take the Virginia now?

This isn't a suprise, but it is much sooner than I thought it would be!
Hopefully more cast members will travel with the show. I am not sure if Sutton seems like the person who would tour, though.
The pantages replaced Hello Dolly for Little Women, I do hope I get to see sutton.
still raked in more performances than taboo...
It is a shame when any show closes. This one was good & competent but not great. Jane Eyre was better.
This isn't a suprise, but I did think they would try to get through the summer when a lot of tourists come. I do think this show deserved more of a chance.

I'm in total shock. Not to say that this wasn't coming but that they are:
1. closing before the Tony Awards.- if Sutton were to win the tony, then it might have drawn a crowd.
2. closing before the Summer.- attendance could pick up
Anyways, I enjoyed the show the two times I went and I wish all the cast all the luck in the world!
How shocking! Iam so surprised about this! I knew that it would close soon, but not this soon! WOW. And before Brooklyn...
That is such a shame
As much as I didn't care for the show, I'm always really sad when productions close
Best of luck to the entire cast and crew

The producers would know if the advance summer sales are not up to par. Plus, I'll bet they know she will not be winning the Tony so no reason to lose any more money. I wonder if the tour is in jeopardy?
aww. i wanted to see it.

No, the tour will go on for sure...
I'm sure Sutton will come back in something bigger and better. As for now, maybe she'll take it on tour with Maureen.
THE WEDDING SINGER is supposed to book a Jujamcyn Theatre...maybe this will be the one.

I saw LW last month, on a Wednesday night, and the orch was little more than half full, and the mez was empty. How sad! This was really a wonderful show and Sutton Foster deserves more recognition. It's too bad one has to establish themselves in a Hollywood movie in order be a box office draw.
