I was wondering about this. I know that Gerard Canonico (Spring Awakening, American Idiot) had done a reading a week or so ago.
And now that I actually READ the article: choreographed by Travis Wall? I am SO there!!!
So looking forward to this. I've heard the music. It's really incredible.
Donyale Werle's sets are always fun and inventive.
Hopefully Stafford Arima can redeem himself after Carrie.

Hopefully Arima will let them actually kiss instead of simulating it with projections.
Damon Intrabartolo is an unparalleled master of his craft.
'Hopefully Stafford Arima can redeem himself after Carrie.'
LOL Yes i am sure Stafford with his many nominations for his production of Carrie and holding his awards he won for Carrie as well as making it possible to have a cast recording and rights released of a show long thought dead is thinking about 'redeeming' himself.
Edit - Sorry Kad i should have said award, not awards, my mistake
Oh, I forgot that saying something negative about the Carrie revival sets off an alarm in your house.

Speaking of, sandd, there was a point where you used to talk about how you were coming over to see "Carrie Reduced" and how it sounded "amazing", but I can't seem to remember what came of that?
Did you cancel the trip?
So happy to hear about this finally happening. I can't even tell you how passionate this production team is abou this project.
And how many awards did the Carrie revival win? I can only find that it won one, Off Broadway Alliance Award for best revival.
Otherwise, what did it win? What awards was Arima holding? Did he steal them?
Because he surely wasn't nominated for best director.
really excited for this!

WTF?
I wish anyone but Arima was attached to this. He is a nice man but I have yet to see much creativity in his work.
Hangii's original staging was terrific. Should be interesting.
I've heard lots of reworking.
Anyone have a guess as to which stage it'll be playing? Other tenants going into the fall:
Stage 1 - RENT
Stage 2 - Gazillion Bubbles Show
Stage 3 - Voca People
Stage 4 - Bullet for Adolf (limted engagement)
Stage 5 - Freud's Last Session
...Would they close RENT? That's the biggest venue in the place at 499 seats...

How could they go wrong with somebody who has worked on So You Think You Can Dance?
"Additional songs by..."
Guess that means it's been severely reworked if Damon isn't attached...
I know Stafford Arima has been attached to this incarnation of the show for the last four or five years, but the smartest thing these producers could have done is replace him while they still had the chance. If CARRIE proved anything, it's that he does not have a strong enough artistic vision to nurture a problematic show in need of creative revisions, and that's the exact same scenario that's going on again with BARE.
Donyale Werle and Travis Wall's involvement is certainly exciting, but I'll remain incredibly apprehensive knowing Arima is steering the ship.

Maybe it will finally get to Broadway
You know what would make it really good? Bring back the entire cast from the previous NYC engagement (all 30-something now [except Arden, who'll be 30 this fall]) to play the 16-year-old characters. That would make it as good as Carrie. I hope they do it...
Arima's take on Carrie proves how perfect he is for preposterously serious, utterly unbelievable, and numbingly dull teenage angst. This show is perfect for him.
Not quite sure how I feel about the "new" songs..
