I usually like everything but I thought Brooklyn was HORRIBLE.
I saw a video of the Bryant Park concert (the one with Bare and Brooklyn), and couldn't understand all the hype about Brooklyn after that. Even downloaded the songs from the website to give them another listen, but they still kinda...well...they kinda sucked.
Anyway, this has been one heckuva week. Been so busy, haven't had time to keep up with this thread, or update my LJ or anything.
Happy belated birthday, Trisky! Hugs and kisses and inappropriate touching!
The plans to come up to NYC mid-November have definitely been axed now. Not just because of the lack of Bare, but also because I'm going to be stepping in for someone else, and directing my first play. Now I just have to sit down, and actually read it. Has anyone ever read or seen Six Characters in Search of an Author? With any luck, I might be able to come up there in early January. If not, it will probably be this time next year before I have another shot at making a trip up there.

Mmmmm. *cough*toldyou*cough*
I'm with Michael. I had a good time at Brooklyn, even if it is a little silly.

"Modern Orthodox, directed by James Lapine, is scheduled to begin performances at Dodger Stages on November 11 in preparation for a December 6 opening."
Le sigh!

WDIN - That's in Stage 3 though, not Stage 1. Stage 1 is still open. I refuse to give up hope. I know Damon and company are probably working hard to find the money to start the show. Telecharge hasn't contacted me yet regarding my tickets in December. I will not give up hope, no matter what is said by some people on this board.
ETA - Oh, and the 'some people' was not meant to be you WDIN. I'm referring to those threads that were popping up regarding the postponement. I was getting upset and angry by what some people were saying about it. Like they really know anything!

I almost had a heart attack when I read your post WDIN...just be glad I read Faile's immediately, or I think I'd be dead...
I'm bumping this up for my own personal enjoyment....
If I explained, it could get embarassing.
WDIN or MoG need to talk to me!!!
And I love Bare!
I dunno where WDIN or MoG are, but I'll talk to you, 2day4u! Hi.

Just wanted to bump this thread up because its getting close to the bottom...
Okay, just to bump this thread up a little bit more...
I realized I said hello a few pages back, but I figured I'd post a nice little "Hi! My name is..." type post here.
Well, my name is fishergirl819, and I'm a college senior from Long Island, NY. I first got into Bare because of the darlings Trisky and MoG. Both are on my friendslist on livejournal because of Wicked and Queer as Folk related things, and the obsessive amount of times MoG mentioned Michael Arden and John Hill intrigued me. I downloaded some of the songs, but didn't totally get into it. Liked the songs (esp. Portrait of a Girl, because I thought Jenna Leigh Green sounded so pretty on it). Anyway, I was looking through some pictures on broadway.com, and stumbled upon a group shot of the cast from the premiere of Dracula. That's what got hooked me in, for in that group shot, I spotted Aaron Lohr. And I squealed. Loudly. Heh. I've absolutely ADORED him since I was about 9 years old, when I first saw Newsies (where he played Mush, or as I like to refer to him, "ITS JUST WRONG THAT A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD IS THAT MUSCULAR." hee.) And of course, he was uber hot in The Mighty Ducks 2. Heh.
Anyway, after that, I started to really get into the show. And it reached a fever pitch when I ran into Jenna Leigh Green two weekends in a row (the Broadway on Broadway concert, then the flea market the next week), and when I got to talk with her and Michael for a bit at the charity flea market last month.
Anyway, that brings us to where I am now, trying to get my Bare fix whereever I can. Heh. Anyway, I'm going to stop rambling now, and let you all continue with your previously scheduled discussions.

Well, we're glad to have you fishergirl.
Test went pretty well today, if you were wondering...
Updated the live journal, read if you feel so inclined. I've loved reading them and getting to know you guys better.
I'm still spreading the BARE love all over campus. I've made it my personal goal to share it with one new person a day. I think I'm succeeding. IT WILL LIVE!!!
I'm a little, well, not sober at this moment, so sorry if that didn't make a lot of sense. But I'm not so drunk that I would tell you I think Michael Moore is hot...haha.

(Psssst.....I knew that!)
I hate message boards.....no emotion! LOL
P.S. That's Faile with us! :-P
That day went like a blur so I totally spaced on who was whom.
Hey folks, sorry long time no speak (all two days of it, LOL). I just realized I never even posted about going to the Chatterbox event. I encourage you all to buy the video when Seth releases it, not only to see it for yourselves, but also to help support Equity Cares. Michael and John performing Bare is worth the price of the tape itself.
Thank goodness Don't Tell Mama's drinks aren't nearly as strong or big as Feinstein's, so there was no room spinning as I was trying to pay attention. I'll also be able to forever recall the memory of a teenaged John doing his little cowboy number and practically blowing his nose into his hands and wiping it off in the middle of it. Hehehe.
It was mentioned somewhere in the course of this that Jesse Vargas had gotten himself another gig, though I couldn't pick up what, but could have sworn someone said Caroline, Or Change (though, it could have been totally in jest, I don't know).
Thanks to Natalie and Michael for their b-day wishes and another happy belated b-day to Michael.
On the other hand, I had to go see Brooklyn that night....
Did I mention how cute Michael and John were?
This is me blocking out my entire memory of Brooklyn, la la la la...
OMG, this Brooklyn sounds A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!!! I have to go see it as soon as I can!!!!!
