it's okay AG. We will still have a fantabulous time. Now you just have more time to plan

Good news though! Ive heard from um a reliable source that Jesse and Damon are in LA right now working on orchestrations for the double cd! Also, there are alot of exciting new changes happening for the next run and the show will be different! :)
Do our tickets transfer to the new date or do we have to re-purchase them?

I dont know for sure but most likley you will need to re-purchase them becasue tickets will of already been sold for the new opening date
Star: We sure will have a fab time, and very true, I can think of more ways to lie to my mother
WhatDoINeed: YEAH! The recording is gonna be amazing...I wonder if they rework it for Off-Broadway, then rework it for Broadway, will they have another recording for the reworked Broadway show?
I am so bummed about the delay!
And I'm also bummed that John Hill is going to LA to play Fender for two weeks which means he won't be at Opia for me to ogle and fondle!
And what about the ticket situation? I had tickets for 9/22. I also just bought the same seats for 10/13. I'm wondering how they'll transfer or if we all just get refunds.
I am confuzzled.
We're all confuzzled and I'm frankly upset...-uzzled
*blah* Well I should start planning now, the earlier the better. Maybe I'll go October 16th...hmmmm...
This sucka, sucka, sucka...
I guess it's true what they say about Friday the 13th bringing bad luck.
The least the Dodgers could do to make up for it now is to lower the $70 ticket price so more people can actually afford to go. Or buy me tickets to see something else for my b-day, now that I won't be seeing Bare that day.
NOOOOOOOOOO. Trisky that sucka sucka sucka sucka like whoa. I'm not loving the $70 price tag, but I rest assured in the fact that hopefully I'll be able to flash that pretty little student ID and get discounted tix.
I hope you get to do something fabu hon for your bday. Hmm. They should let us into a 'bare' rehearsal that day...Damon, you hear?
It's okay, I was just being selfish as usual. LOL My b-day isn't until Oct. 7, it would have been the third time in 2 weeks we would have been going.
But still, $70 is quite a bit. Since I'm ... older than a student and not one, I couldn't even use that, but I'm glad for the folks who can. I think the show deserves to be seen by as many people as possible and I'm not sure the $70 price tag will be able to get them into the seats (particularly if they want repeat attendees).
I definitely concur with that. I mean, in the grand scheme of things, $40 was incredibly cheap. I still wonder how they broke even or even made a profit with the ATA run. Well, if you know a student they at least usually let you buy up to two tickets per id...just an idea. :)
I'll just have to harrass the students I know. (The problem being MadeofGold would beat me down if I ever went to the show without her, *hee*.) I can't imagine that they actually made any money off that original run. Then again they were performing in a place whose bathroom ceiling was caving in, so maybe it didn't cost that much to put on!
As much as I love the show I'm kinda anxious about whether or not they can sell out 499 seats night after night. It should be an interesting test of its mettle.
True dat. Oh, we could never leave MadeofGold out She has helped me with my 'BARE' love. I owe her like whoa. Yeah, the ATA was a scary little place. The men's bathroom was...well, interesting. LOVED that staircase tho. It would be a gorgeous space with a bit of a renovation...and, um....AIR CONDITIONING. I remember seeing it (I think it was #3) and almost passing out b/c it was just so hot and stuffy in there. And that was a two show day. I am worried about the seating at Dodger...499 is a big leap, even with all the word-of-mouth. I mean, until today, there were still front orchestra seats (row c i believe) available for the first preview, as well as row a tickets for almost every show after that. we'll just have to cross our fingers. i plan on seeing this many more times.
I have to wait three extra weeks to get my BARE fix?!?! Oh man, this is gonna get UGLY.
I feel really bad that I am excited right now that Bare is pushed back to October 13th, becuase of all of you that had tickets and plans to go, and now they have to be rearranged, that really SUCKS. The only reason I am excited is because I was REALLY sad that I wasn't going to be there on the first day in Sept., since my friends and I couldn't get back to NY, until what do ya know Oct. 15th, well I guess you can imagine we will definetly be bumping the trip up to the 13th!! Don't worry though, I am sure those of you who have tix already will be able just to switch the days, but it does suck that you have to wait longer.
I remember walking into that place and up those stairs and there were folks just lined up, sitting on them waiting to see if they could get cancellation tickets I believe. I had no clue what the show was really about or what I was getting myself into, but I figured if that many people were hanging out looking envious of the people who were getting in, it must have been good. Some guy even tried to buy our tickets outside the show (of course this was the night before closing, so people were really desparate than).
I was actually kind of freaked out at first because the theater reminded me of this crappy little place MadeofGold and I had seen a horrific production of some take off on The Wizard of Oz, which we're both still traumatized by. I just kept picturing an actor pretending to play Toto on stage again. Thank you Jeebus I was so wrong, it wasn't even funny.
Lucky you, that you got to see it so many times! Hopefully we'll all get that opportunity this go round and a year from now we'll be old, bitter Bare fans who don't want to explain the show yet again. :P I think they should have started them up in the 199 seat theater and then gradually moved them up to 499 if it seemed like it was warranted. I just want it to survive as long as possible and it makes me nervous that they might shorten the run if they can't sell well in 499 seats.
Adampascalgal: Hey, we can wait, it's all good if someone who wouldn't be able to see the show originally can now see it!
Trisky: Your story makes me anxious to go lol. I'm all for the old BARE fans we'll end up...we're the first generation

Wow, Trisky, you can tell that story when BARE is a huge Broadway hit and people will be so envious that you got to see the show's first NYC run!
It sucks that we have to wait longer, but hey, I can use the extra time to convert friends with my handy dandy sampler (...and pictures, too. )!
Yeah, I remember sitting on those steps quite a few times, waiting for cancellation tickets. The fact that that show sold out every night is incredible. I only didn't get it one time, and that's b/c my friends are stupid. I love them, but they're stupid. It was the aids walk day and they didn't want to go get tickets when the box office opened, so by the time we got there...they were sold out, and they didn't have 5 cancellation tickets. *tears* Oh well...
oh and cowbell, keep spreadin' the 'bare' love! everyone that i've given that sampler to has loved it. my SISTER, who's only fourteen, has fallen in love with the show and has passed it along to all of her friends, who have, in turn, fallen in love with it. it's great.
AH MAX IS BACK!!! Good choice star
Blah, we have to wait longer...Dodger Stages are fairly new I think, so they'll be nicer than ATA lol. I think they just built Dodger.
Alright ladies, I'm off to Montreal for a coupla days. I know it will be SO hard to go on without me, but please cope...
:)
Max is never really gone AG. You know that.
Whoa, star, BlueWizard is also in Montreal!!! I forgot to make the connection when you told me earlier!!!
Blah, all my BARE boys going to Montreal...leaving me here...*tear*
Have fun in Montreal, starlyricist! I shall be inconsolable until you return.
And I'm actually looking forward to being able to say "I remember when I was scared the ceiling was going to fall on my head at Bare, and/or I would pass out cold from the heat." Good times, good times!
I've done a great job (along with MadeofGold) converting people into Bare fans, the problem is that many of them bought tickets for shows pre-Oct. 13th and many of them are/were traveling in to see it. Now all that hard work has gone down the drain!
Starlyricist, babe, have a good trip. I'll miss you honey. I thought I was going to see you on Sunday.
And yes, that bathroom experience at the ATA was...interesting. I don't think I've ever feared for my life using a public restroom before.
And may I whine one more time about the delayed starting date? I had not one, not two but three sets of tickets, all for before the 13th. I love this show like a fat kid loves cake, yo. For serious. :)
