BTW, did any of you watch the live auction? I was there from 630p-730p and noticed the same people tend to bid again and again (mostly from the front center area). I don't know how people get those paddles but the live auction always seem so exciting and entertaining to me.

Someday when I have at least $5000 to donate, I want to be in those chairs and bid (and hopefully win!)

I actually cleared well under my budget that I set this year. I only maxed myself at $60 because I don't have a ton of cash to throw around at this time and ended up spending just under $40.

I agree with many of the posters about the lack of end-of-day pricing. Almost every year that I've gone, the prices were very much bargain-basement so they could offload what is left. Now I understand some items that were full-cast signed or from new/popular shows (Head Over Heels, Dear Evan Hansen) commanding higher or fuller prices. But when most people had packed up and shipped out, some were charging VERY high prices still. (The funniest instance I encountered was a table selling a GREAT COMET book for $40 at 5pm - which I got out of the $5 clearance bin at Barnes and Noble back home not two months before.)

My haul was pretty decent:

- Assorted classic Playbills, many of them opening night, including Nicholas Nickelby, Blithe Spirit (Chamberlain/Danner/Page), and Strange Interlude (Glenda Jackson).

- A few signed Playbills, including an Urban Cowboy signed by Matt Cavenaugh (for 50 cents) and Fully Committed by Jesse Tyler Ferguson ($1)

- A few plays (ANN, Cock)

- A Hedwig Necklace (which the guy undercharged me for, I think by accident). I'm mad I didn't snatch up the Lena Hall windowcard when I had the chance.

- A Straight White Men windowcard for $2.

- Some Broadway Bares costumes (2/$1)

The highlight of the day was the two times I ended up over at Tyne Daly's table. The first time, I helped her get a picture with a fan, and then she whisked me off to her hanging rack and tried to fit me for her "It Shoulda Been You" Opening Night coat (even though it was two sizes too small. Boy, she is a hell of a saleswoman. Then later, I went back, but I did pick up a Gypsy playbill with her on it and had her sign it for $10, and she was such a sweetheart.

Overall, it was a pretty great day considering I got there very late and I assume a bunch of the good stuff was long gone.

People keep forgetting, shows like HOH or DEH or Pretty Women can stand to hold onto stuff for later (remember fall collections are right around the corner) thus why they weren't putting on a fire sale at their tables.

Like others have mentioned, one table had a tote bag. One table was also selling the window card they gave to the cast for the first preview. I bought that and came back later and they had another. It was $200, but totally worth it to me.

Wow! I didn't see any items from My Fair Lady when I went (I arrived after 6pm.... when most vendors were already packing up.) I did watch the remainder of the live auction and felt it wasn't as exciting as last year's (when people had a bidding war for Springsteen opening night party tix and Ben Platt's last performacne and Bette's last performance.) This year, I think one of the exciting ones was the auction for Mean Girls --- when 2 teenagers and their parent were trying to outbid each other! The auctioneer stopped and even commented he wishes he had that kind of allowance! lol"

Lincoln Center had a very small table next to The Lion King and they were selling signed props and playbills from My Fair Lady as well as leftover programs from The King & I (and they held a silent auction for a used pair of heels worn by Kelli O’Hara in KAI). When I arrived at 10am, they had already almost sold out of the cluster of plastic flowers used on stage. By 2pm, when I returned from a 45-minute lunch break, they had already sold everything and their table had been shut down (ensemble cast members were the ones selling, so I presume they packed up and left for their matinee).

Also saw several HP pride playbills that were cast-signed on the Part Two playbills. They were being sold for $60

Had a great time (as usual) at the flea market yesterday.  I did not get there until about 3:45 PM, but I like the end of the day deals so it worked out.  Now that I've had some time to sort out the goodies I got, here is a list:

-  So many T-shirts and some hoodies (Nice Work if You Can Get It, Frozen, Hello Dolly, Amelie, Misery, War Paint, etc.):  They had some of those stuff a bag for $10 deals, so I was able to get all these for $25.

-  Dear Evan Hansen 2018 Calendar:  $1

-  Spiderman Turn Off the Dark mousepad:  $1

-  Doctor Zhivago opening night shot glass:  $1

-  Misery (book):  $1

-  Musical selections from various movies, Superman Returns, and the Harry Potter movies:  $5

-  Many Magnets (Nice Work if You Can Get It - also a beer opener, Hello Dolly, Matilda, An Act of God, Leap of Faith, Skintight, A Bronx Tale, etc.): About $6

The highlight of the day was when I bumped into Norm Lewis at the flea market.  He was super nice to everyone and took photos.  I am a big fan of his and so was very happy to finally meet him.

One thing I forgot to mention was that I ended up in a conversation with Euan Morton (and some other fans) at the HAMILTON table and he was GUSHING about how proud he was of his son (Iain Armitage, who is "Young Sheldon" and it was just so heartwarming.

Why not get something for the cause rather than just lug boxes back to the office?

After seeing some of the other lists, I wish I had bothered to dig through a few bins for scripts, CDs, and stuff, but on the other hand it was less stressful not trying to peruse through bins. I'm regretting not grabbing an Arena Stage DEH windowcard but I wasn't originally planning on buying anything that big and carrying it around while seeing 2 shows until they had the regular ones going for $5 after my matinee.

There was ONE Bette signed playbill I saw for $300. But seeing as how she would only sign like 10 playbills for the DOLLY table last year, I wasn’t surprised at all to not see much of anything from her.

The only Bette-signed Dolly stuff I recall seeing was at the live auction. I can't remember but the posters Hello Dolly set (both Bernadette Peters and Bette Midler) sold for over $5,000.

There was a bidding war between 2 people in the audience for the framed DEH musical phrase "you will be found" signed by pasek, paul, and ben platt... and it reached $13,000! They only had 1 at the time but since the final price was so high they asked the 2nd person if he/she was willing to match the $10k donation and get another framed DEH music line "you will be found" along with all 3 autographs (they said they'll somehow someway get Ben Platt to sign it!)

@Anshel2: I’m sorry to report that the SDC table had THREE of them. Maybe they didn’t all sell and some will end up back there next year. They were in a bin way off to the side and rolled up, so you had to know what you were holding in your hand because it would’ve been impossible to unfurl it.

My husband and two teenage daughters are on the lookout every year we go to the flea market for anything Hair related (it’s one of my all time favorite shows).  I found a poster from The Public commemorating the 50th anniversary of the show, my 13 year old found me a show program from the 2009 production (original revival tribe).  I found a tote bag from the 2009 production and a mug as well.  I didn’t see any apparel this year.

Ok thank you! All I'm missing is the Broadway window cards. I'm looking specifically for the Star logo Starlight Express. TheActr97J which window card did you get? The Star Logo or the Red Skater in the front?

- Three Tall Women Tony Voter Program (5) I'm also surprised this was never sold at the theater. It's so gorgeous it could be a coffee table book.

- Carousel Program (5)

- Aida Chicago Tryout Playbill

- Miss Saigon OBC Playbill

- Into the Woods Central Park Program

and my favorite thing of the day...

- A Chorus Line at the Public the original program for five dollars. I audibly gasped when I saw it and never purchased anything so quickly. 

 

I was bummed to not be able to find the Merrily We Roll Along OBC playbill I wanted. If anyone has an extra they want to get rid of please let me know!

I tried to not go so crazy this year, and it ended up being one of my favorite years. I found and bought:

- A Playbill clock where the numbers are Playbills for shows that have their respective number in the title: $20

-A Matilda pencil case - $1

-2 Finding Neverland pens - $1 each

-Jane Eyre souvenir program in great shape (complete with insert) and it's SIGNED - $5 (my favorite find of the day, and probably in my top three finds EVER - finding a full cast signed "13" Playbill at my first year [a few years after the show closed] is still my favorite, and I also love my Legally Blonde duffel bag that was actually used in the show and that I then got to use when I was in Legally Blonde myself)

-Bright Star Playbill - $2

-A Beauty and the Beast t-shirt - $10

All day I had my eye on the Frozen sweatshirt from Denver; at the beginning of the day, it was $40. By after lunch, it was $30, and then just as I was leaving, it was down to $15, so I got that, plus they were selling t-shirts 3 for $5, so I got 3 shirts and a free poster!

A variety of plays to add to my collection, because I really need to read more plays. 

If any of you were digging through Playbill boxes at any point and were asked if you had seen a Little Women Playbill, that was me! The hunt continues after 8 years of searching. 

One of my favorite years ever, and I came in under-budget! It was a beautiful day for Broadway!
