Did anyone notice Ben Platt is releasing an album and going on tour soon? he is playing at the Beacon in NYC at one stop. I wonder if it will be worth going to??
What I’m wondering is that if anyone purchased the album and got the presale code, is it a personalize code or general code? If it’s general, please share.

It was announced, and I guess that it would be worth going to if you want to see him sing the songs from the album and maybe some more?
I don't know how "famous" he is or how "famous" he think he is, but does he really think he can sell out the Dolby Theatre here in Hollywood/LA (3,400 seats) ??? Not even other Broadway leads like Darren Criss, Kristin Chenoweth, Bernadette Peters, nor Idina Menzel pick venues THAT big to tour. Good luck. The venue shocked me, not going to lie. I hope his first tour goes great. He is very talented.
He's playing at The Anthem in DC. Capacity can vary from 2,500 (seated) to 6,000 (standing). Sometimes in between if there's a mix of seating/standing room.
I'm surprised he didn't book the Kennedy Center, which is where basically all the Broadway touring singers go. Leslie Odom did the Eisenhower Theater, which seats 1,161 (Broadway style house). I have tickets in the spring for Patina Miller, who's playing in the Terrace Theater (capacity 475). Miller, Megan Hilty, Adam Pascal and Brian D'Arcy James have played the Terrace Theater before (in Hilty's case, pretty regularly). Even saw Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana together there in the Jazz Club theater (capacity 150!!)
Really really curious to see if Ben can sell the Anthem. I think he might do ok since he was here for months doing the Dear Evan Hansen out-of-town tryout, but it's going to depend on the prices.
He will be in Irving Texas (Dallas suburb) too I ordered his album from Amazon but never got a code for the presale. Does anyone know how I'd go about getting it.?

I'm pretty sure you have to pre-order it from his website in order to get the code.

The presale code is only advertised on the Warner Brothers preorder page. You could try contacting them to see if you can get one.
His latest video was released just today and it already has 35,000+ views. I think the tour will sell very well but most of those venues are definitely larger than I was excepting.
Good luck selling in those large venues--he's not exactly in the pop bracket but well know among the theatre crowd-but really. I sure wouldn't be keen to see his 2hr concert. A cabaret show--sure.
Now--what was that music vid. all about?? Couldn't understand the lyrics, so why all that angst? He was brooding, moody and his Matt Damon look alike boyfriend appeared sympathetic-for a while. Seems like a lot of self doubt going on there and the BF got sick of dragging him out in the middle of the night to the playground for a kiss, and left. Empty coat hangers gave it all away--thank God they weren't WIRE!
Nice voice, nothing distinctive---can he swing?[musically]-he has the face for it.
Have men forgotten how to shave? So over that look--now even weather men and news readers have lost their razors. I tried it and looked like I should be behind bars-and I'm female[not really but made me laugh].

There usually is, but if you are booking halls of 3000 people who are all your fans, may be a bit of a stretch to exit that way. If anything, he should add a VIP level that includes a meet and greet, and call it done.

That is exactly what he is doing--having a VIP meet and greet option.
He also just tweeted that if you have a pre-order separate from the Warner site you can be eligible for a pre-sale code if you provide your order number.
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
Was thinking about buying Philly tickets but I noticed they seem to be $50-$150. I'd rather just see a musical instead .... Never been to the new Met before though
