No one mentioned Pudgy yet!?
I saw the show tonight and every time Pudgy was on stage I couldn’t stop watching him.
Incredible puppetry/marionette work being done here.
That Act 2 opening number was outstanding. I literally gasped at what I was seeing, it was such perfect theatrical magic, some of the best use of costumes & lighting I’ve seen. I’d want to see it again just for that.
As others have said, yeah the book is bizarre and doesn’t really make sense, but that didn’t really bother me, I still had a blast. It was just pure
fun to see a bright, colorful, splashy show with big dance numbers and a star-making lead performance.
