Actually, I think your chances are fine. The line wasn't long (maybe 10 people) and half of them left after the announcement. I would go for it. I was fifth in line and got two tickets in row A."
Rush is $30 cash only, correct?
Yep""
Is there a limit of how many tickets you can buy? I need three for tomorrow but my friend who was suppose to come with me in the morning got called into work so if there's a limit of two per person, I'm kinda screwed. Maybe I can sweet-talk the box office lady if it isn't too busy...

It's two per person but it never hurts to ask.
Ptesan said: "Rushed this morning. The ticket guy came out and told us that someone bought out the theater for this evenings performance but offered us rush for tomorrow's show. So that's what I did- front row orchestra. I'm thinking it will be cheesy good fun like Xanadu."
Wait wait wait back up! One person bought out the tickets to tonights show?
Since it is likely I will now never see this, can someone PM me and tell me who dies and how in this show? For some reason I've been very curious to know who survives this ludicrous show.

See if you can find someone who just wants a single ticket and buddy up?

I don't think it's been mentioned here what the optimal time to arrive for successful DISASTER rush is; i.e., how long before the box office opens. One hour before? Half hour? Help would be appreciated for these last couple of days of the run.
It is on TDF. We are going Sunday.

I actually went today around 11:30 & no one else was there. The box office attendant said that they only had a few tickets left. That being said, I asked & was able to buy three tickets instead of the two ticket limit.

Good to know, thanks. By the way, where were the seats located?

Thanks, Sorano, for the info.
Being filmed for
Lincoln Center at matinee today.

I was there for the matinee today. Saw the cameras filming. I love disco and silly, campy musicals, so had a great time. Didn't go upstairs, but the orchestra was almost full.
Cannot believe other shows do not get recorded and this will.

What time do you think I should try to go for tickets for tomorrow?

Bump.
The box office is still opening at 12pm, right?

We arrived 45 minutes before the box office opened and counted 16 people ahead of us on the rush line. Most opted for the matinee, as did we. Our seat location was Orch L on right side, not too far in --fine, full view. The show was bigger and even funnier than the show we'd seen at St. Luke's. So glad Roger Bart returned for final performances. I know super-silly comedy is not everyone's cup of tea, but we had a great time. From the thunderous applause and laughter throughout, I'd say most everyone did, too.
Note of interest: Enthusiastic entrance applause for the amazing Jennifer Simard as well as Faith Prince abd Adam Pascal indicated the audience was largely locals, not tourists.
Well done, Seth and Jack!
Playbill's FB page will be streaming Jennifer Simard's song live from the Nederlander Theater as it happens on stage during its last performance at 3:45PM!
Very excited to see this!

I heard the producers are being taken to arbitration by Equity because they STILL haven't paid the buyouts to the final Off Broadway cast that Equity requires.
Way to stand strong, Equity! Why did you allow performances without taking care of your Union Members first? That's when you had the power to actually effect change, not now.

yeah they apparently screwed a lot of people on right of first refusal from the off broadway run

I wonder if this played into the closing notice...Still find it random they decided to close the week after tony nominations...It's not like they expected any besides possibly Simard...It's not like the numbers were any worse than the previous few weeks...

I don't think the arbitration had anything to do with the closing..that was more likely the losing of hundreds of thousands of dollars each week....
The money they owe to the previous actors is a drop in the bucket compared to that loss.
I am really disappointed in Equity (again.). And Seth who always gives lip service to being pro-union, pro-worker, anti-greedy producer...guess the shoe is on the other foot when it's YOUR money (or your investors' money)
