yeah but he can have such a comical stage presence that I think it would be hysterical
If you want comedy go to HA!
This night is about Hot Bods.
Is the age limit 18 or 21?
She's not in a show now, but Kate Reinders.
Well hopefully "Wonder Woman" Rachelle Rak will be back. She is always a hilarious highlight.
What ever happened to Steve Geary?
AARON LAZAR. Which is something that won't happen.

Has anyone else ever found it ironic that Broadway Bares raises money to fight AIDS, a sexually-transmitted disease, by strongly promoting sex?
Using sexuality and dancing for fun is certainly a valid way of raising money for people who cannot afford proper care.
Ironic?
Maybe, but it also shows that we as Gay Men and Friends in the Broadway Community will not be destroyed or de-Sexed by a terrible disease.
Rentaholic, I've always felt that way, too.

Actually, I think the words "strongly promoting sex" are--well--something my Mormon mother would say.
No one ever caught AIDS from watching someone take off their clothes. Also, sex doesn't need to be promoted--it's already got the job. The notion that because there are sexually transmitted diseases out there we should all become sexless is pretty silly. Sex, in all it's forms isn't going to go away, and so our best chance is to use it responsibly.
I look forward to Broadway Bares and applaud any and all of the performers for giving us some good racy fun.
Jason Patrick Sands from LB please!
Now I'm off to Google Image every guy in everythingtaboo's list, he has good taste :)

I seriously doubt that only a Mormon mother would say that Broadway Bares strongly promotes sex. People dancing on stage partially naked, often stripping, and making very suggestive poses and contact...that's "strongly pormoting sex." I'm just saying, when abstinence is the most surefire way of prevention...oh, nevermind. And you're right that sex doesn't need to be promoted; neither does alcohol but I can't really imagine Mothers Against Drunk Driviers selling shot glasses as a fundraiser.
There is only one way to get drunk. There are many non-sexual ways to acquire AIDS (in many cases, simply being born is enough). ANYWAY....
Tyler Hanes, Skylar Astin, and John Lloyd Young would top my list.

Wow, Rentaholic, preaching abstinence. You're a scream.
Abstinence is a sure-fire way to drive yourself crazy. I've never met anyone who was abstinent who wasn't off their rocker. Sex is a wonderful, essential part of life and to deny people that is a terrible thing. It makes me wonder what you've learned in all your viewings of Rent.
And, by the way, you obviously don't know my Mormon mother.
Do you think Michael York and Ted Neeley will be back to strip to "Forever Young"? I know Ted tried out for the Spring Awakening Tour and I think Michael is free to join him now. I know Chico and Bruiser from LB are hard at work on 'Anything You Can Lick, I Can Lick Better' and 'If You Could Do This, You Would Too'.
No York and Neeley but I seriously heard Deb Munk is gonna be involved some way.

i'm sorry, this pisses me off. Abstinence is a responsible mature choice that should be respected just like people who have sex should be respected. Sex is a BIG deal and people who choose to wait should be commended, not seen as crazy. If more people were responsible with who they have sex with, we wouldnt HAVE an AIDS epidemic or so many unwanted teenage pregnancies.
Sorry, this is one oif my sore spots and needed my soapbox.

Though that would be a bit more on the extreme side than BROADWAY BARES is, I think it is a very valid comparison.

it's not the "promoting sex" that contradicts the cause of the event. it's what some of these dancers are doing backstage during it that's the problem... you know who you are

Now I'm really wondering what's going on with Rent. Everythingisrent--It is absolutely ridiculous to think that people will give up sex. Syphlis, Gonorrhea, threats of Hell, AIDS, none of these things has been enough to make people give up sex. I can only think that the reason you think abstinence is an option is that you haven't had sex. And, even though it's not perfect, teaching people about safe sex is a far better option than trying to shut it off.

thank you EverythingIsRENT. I'm not saying everyone who is not a virgin should give up sex. I'm saying that I personally find it ironic that a performance that is basically all about sex is raising money to fight a disease that is most often spread by sexual intercourse. I never said we should all become sexless or that sex isn't a wonderful thing. But you can't call me crazy for saying the word "abstinence." PLENTY of people choose to not have sex until they find the person they want to spend their life with, and by making this choice, they have a much less likely chance of spreading sexual diseases. Please, don't tell me I'm "a scream" and that I am saying we should deny people sex.
Even you said "teaching people about safe sex is a far better option than trying to shut it off." Obviously, a show like Broadway Bares isn't doing much to promote safe sex either. By abstinence, I don't mean that no one should ever have sex---just that people should be responsible, and abstaining from sex (or at least from irresponsible sex with multiple partners) is the best method of prevention.
And certainly you can see that RENT has many lessons to teach beyond sexual liberation...
