Posted: 3/29/08 at 8:38pmI hope this is good and that Dolly does more.
With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-
"Not Barker, Todd is the only person I've ever known who could imitate Katherine Hepburn...in print." -nmartin-

I can not wait for this! I'm so excited! I hope it is well received and does well!
What a great cast! Allison Janey's voice really does remind me of Lily Tomlin.
Does anyone know if Bebe Neuwirth is still playing Roz in this?

When I clicked on BWW and saw Dolly on the main page, I squealed.
And peed a little.

Megan Hilty, Stephanie J Block, Allison Janney and Marc Kudisch all in one show with a score by Dolly Parton?
Yes please.

"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu#12re: BWW TV: Dolly Parton Looks to Broadway with '9 to 5'

Anything that gets Marc Kudisch back to Broadway is okay by me...
And this cast tackling a country score sounds wonderful to me...

Yay for Dolly!
And I think this is officially the most snark-free, cynicism-free posting about a film-to-stage adaptation EVER on this board. THAT'S the power of Dolly.

Posted: 3/30/08 at 12:26amDidn't someone say in the video that only the songs that Dolly's character sing sound country?

jpbran-
It's the power of Dolly, and I think the fact that a film to stage adaptation of 9 to 5 makes sense. It could work beautifully.
I hope this does well. Dolly's the bomb.

Good observation, jpbran!
I am hoping that the "Dolly Power" you mention works its magic on this production... and "that's the biggest truth I've ever told" LOL

"DOLLY PARTON gives ET a sneak peek of the world premiere of the stage version of her hit movie, 'Nine to Five,' on Monday's ET.
The 'Nine to Five' musical will open at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles this fall and ET has the lowdown on the casting: MEGAN HILTY will play the role of Doralee Rhodes made famous by Dolly, ALLISON JANNEY is taking over from LILY TOMLIN as Violet Newstead, JANE FONDA's Judy Bernly will now be played by STEPHANIE J. BLOCK and the role of Franklin Hart Jr. (DABNEY COLEMAN) in the movie was been awarded to MARC KUDISCH.
Tune in Monday for more of Dolly on ET!"
I'm not sure what they mean by "sneak peek", but it may be worth tuning in.
