Eh, Sutton wasn't anything like the Sutton I saw in the show. So far I'm most impressed with Louise (as always) and Kathy Brier.

Yeah Sutton wasn't anything like Sutton in the show. I was most impressed with Idina. I cannot wait until I see Wicked.

This totally sums it up - The number from Gypsy was a weak one & to have Gypsy excerpt without with Peters is absurd beyond belief. What we got here is the Readers Digest Condensed version of all the numbers in question.

If you read my review of Melanie in Chicago, you would know it was not an off day. That is how she "acts". Yes, she is God awful.

I've been looking at prices for 'Wicked' and...is it true that tickets for previews are $40-$100 but after that...they're $200!!!???

They cut "Millie" short, not Sutton, I was thrilled to watch Sutton, even though it was cut short, but I went nuts when they cut Ann L. Nathan's tap number. Oh well, I still remember her from last year's BOB. And I feel good that I got to see her again at the Marquis last month.
And Sutton looked great, as allways.

No, ticket prices don't change for "Wicked" after opening. Just checked with Ticketmaster.

Idina was amazing on the telecast. She's really got something (besides the most gorgeous husband in the world)...

BWay on BWay on TV

If anyone made a video of this show (on NBC or other) and are willing to send me a copy. I would love you forever and like you for always. Please PM me.

re: BWay on BWay on TV

I am SO proud! My hair got on screen several times! :)

I understand that they had to condense the numbers...but to talk over Forget About the Boy?????

I loved watching the very last number again...Tyrone Giordano was too adorable...love his face...and I loved how the Hairspray girls had their arms around the little Gypsy kids and were kicking their legs. Very cute.

re: re: BWay on BWay on TV

Okay... Anne was the BEST part of "Forget About the Boy." HOW could they cut her?? Sutton totally looked angry at the entire world. She looked miserable and was NOT enjoyable to watch.

There was NO way Luker was lipsyncing. She moved me to tears. She was fabulous. Voice like an angel.

Hugh and Brent were my highlights, along with Rebecca.

re: BWay on BWay on TV

I haven't seen the broadcast yet, being in Chicago. But I was fortunate enough to be in NY to see the concert live. After hearing how much the songs were cut, I'm glad I videotaped the whole show. I just wish I wasn't getting knocked around so much while taping. It looks a little like cinema verite!

re: re: BWay on BWay on TV

Sorry to disappoint but MANY were lipsynching, not just Luker. Kerry should do everyone a favor and quit (yes, I'm serious). From the very first note, she was off. The Mariah "hand flailing" has to stop immediately as well. Melanie looked drugged and I was not impressed with much more. Idina *looked* great but I see she's still screaming every note of a song. Taboo came off better than most of the other performances and btw,WHO is that no talent, in The producers? You're right about Never gonna Dance...It's really BAD!

re: re: re: BWay on BWay on TV

Oh Al. If you only had half a clue you'd be dangerous. Having worked ON the event I can assure you that no one (NO ONE) was lipsyncing at Broadway on Broadway, unless you count Melanie Griffith doing her number with Brent.

re: re: re: re: BWay on BWay on TV

I do have a "clue". Why is it that everytime someone posts unfavorably about one of these events, some random newbie, winds up on the boards saying "they worked on the production". You all sure do have VERY flexible schedules, to be able to spend so much time HERE!

No, Al, you do not have a clue. What you have is a chip on your shoulder the size of montana - on just about every subject on this message board. You should really consider refocusing your energies on something productive and not destructive.
