For Goth's cast, I'd replace Norbert Leo Butz with Jason Alexander. If Jackie Mason is unavailable, I'd have Stritch play both Pop and Mazeppa.

I have to say after witnessing personally how she treats people around her and those who are in office support or catering positions, Miss Streisand is one of, if not THE most unpleasant and nasty person I've ever encountered. She's forgotten where she came from and is SO adversarial in her dealings - especially those she deems "below her" - that it makes me sad that I had ever been a fan. There are some wildly successful stars that haven't lost their humanity (Cher, for instance - who treats even lowly receptionists with respect and care and class and dignity).

I can only hope for the sake of having a Gypsy film to beat all Gypsy films that she finds even a SHRED of her former humanity that she had when doing a bit part in "I Can Get It For You Wolesale", wishing that the world would be kind to her and give her a break... that she reconnects with that core of her soul when she films "Rose's Turn".

I'm saddened to not be more excited about this news... As she's going back to what I personally thinks she does best... But after watching her try to get people fired who don't even WORK for her (because of perceived slights to her ego), and hearing horror stories from friends who have catered for her, and hearing of countless up and coming singers that have sought her guidance and were turned away like rabid lepers, it's hard to divorce the cold hardened woman from the art...

I'm not bashing Babs, but unless her make-up artist is the samr guy that did the computer work in TRON 2 to make Jeff Bridges look younger, this is so wrong.

How in the hell is Babs going to play a monther or a 9 year old?
