don't think they'd want to go to a larger theater.

The Palace is not scheduled to re-open until 2021. I doubt that would happen.

FFS, ENOUGH BEETLEJUICE THREADS.
Mods, I know you’re being extremely lax because activity has been so low. But these threads are prime examples of horrible message board etiquette and shouldn’t be allowed.
This thread is another theory with no facts or purpose that could easily be merged with any of the other 3 homepage threads dedicated to broadway reopening and/or the future of Beetlejuice.

And won't you be chagrined while the rest of us saunter into the re-opened Palace Theater in either 2021, 2022 or 2023 (take your choice) to see the updated and wonderful BEETLEJUICE? My, oh my, won't you regret your folly?

I don't know if I personally think moving into a larger house is at all a wise move for the show, but hey, more power to them.

Hmmmm, I really think they’ll be focusing on the tour.
Something that could re-open the Palace though is the Derek Hough-led ‘Singin’ in the Rain’, which was cancelled a few years ago, and has been subsequently in the works for some time now.

Before the Tonys, Beetlejuice was struggling to fill seats. With new shows, do we think Beetlejuice at the Palace would be the first one people would run to see? Also, is the Palace bigger (or the plan to make it bigger) than the Winter Garden? I do not think it is realistic to expect the show to open the theater. I understand people are hopeful that it will come back, but I don't know how likely that is.

the palace wont open for years, especially now that construction is frozen, but i cant imagine that they would reopen with what will by then be a 4 year old show with a national tour?
i get the beetlejuice fans are bummed, its a crappy situation, but these fantasies are getting more and more outlandish.

I thought Great Comet was coming back to reopen the Palace? Or Spongebob? I mean, I'm presuming they're making these calls based strictly off of what people are posting on message boards about what unfairly closed too soon and they want to see again. Not the fact that Beetlejuice was only evicted because its grosses dropped low enough for their stop-clause to go into effect.

Not once since it closed have I heard anything about Great Comet coming back to a theater in any capacity.

Of course it's not actually coming back--my point was that people love to assume that because they liked a show like Great Comet or Spongebob or Beetlejuice that they were wrongly closed and must find a way to come back, even though their grosses were terrible and they closed because they weren't making any money. I should have been clearer with my sarcasm in that above post. Great Comet is dead, Spongebob is dead, Beetlejuice is dead. None of them are reopening the Palace.

There is absolutely no way they will ever reopen the Palace with Beetlejuice, a musical that, even after it caught on, was still not doing the type of business that said 'this will be doing great business even a year from now'.
I predict that the Palace will reopen with either a big star in an overdue musical revival, e.g., Mame, Funny Girl; a new musical with significant name recognition from tried and tested creatives; or a series of splashy one-person shows. Definitely not Beetlejuice.

sparksatmidnight - Cole Escola is a comedian. His April 8th Twitter post refers to Bernie Sanders suspending his campaign and the Twitter aftermath that followed cleverly segued with Beetlejuice's closing.
TLDR: it's satire, love.
