I love her Unexpected Song. The website doesn't have the intro, which I'm pretty sure she did that night (and always does). I hope it's included on the disc.

The CD is incredible. Last night, a group of us were treated to her performances of "With So Little To Be Sure Of" and "Children Will Listen" - unmic'd with Marvin Laird at the piano.

I saw her this morning & thought she was so funny too! I think Regis & Bernadette have great chemistry together, and it looked to me as if Regis really like co/hosting w/Bernadette.
Anyone know if BP is doing a cd signing? I know she did one for Gypsy, and I heard she did a book signing couple weeks back for the book she (wrote?) with Chris Reeves. Anyone?

I hope she cuts that god awful hair. You know what they say 'women over forty should not wear their hair long'. Bernadette Peters is way way over forty.
Hasn't she done a Sondheim album before?

Just not a fan are you alterego? Her hair is gorgeous! You just have something against her. And I cannot stand Patti Lupone.

I just don't think she is as versatile as you think she is Anniegetyourrose, I went off her about the time of Song and Dance, where she just couldn't do a English accent, and while I liked her in the first act of Sunday In The Park, as an old lady in act two she made me cringe in embarrassment. As for the hair, it's just creepy on a woman of nearly sixty. I'd like to see her cut the hair, break out of the cupie-doll image and try some straight dramatic roles.

I'm sorry - but she looks damn good for near 60. I also think her hair is beautiful.

Why do we have to have her on the Tony's every year? Has she got photo's or something. It would have made more sense to have last years Best Actress In A Musical winner Idina, do the opening this year.Or any of the other women who have worked on Broadway and have a profile (or not).We need some new blood, let's just give someone else a break.

I couldnt disagree with both of you more...WHY do we have to have her on the TONYS?!?! BECAUSE she is the first Lady of American Musical Theatre - that title goes to nobody else these days. She is a phenom on Bway and the likes of her talent have come close to being matched, but anyone has yet to surpass her talent or the spark Bernadette Peters has with fans! Not having Bernadette on the Tonys would be like not having the President reside in the White House.
You are fully allowed to have your own thoughts of her, as I see most of us do. But to disregard her stature and place on the American Stage is simply not cool.
