There really is no "best" Billy. Having seen all three I can say that they are all very talented young men. If you are thinking of going to the show then just turn up and enjoy whoever happens to be on - you won't be disappointed.

I've seen all three (by sheer luck) and they are all really different - and all REALLY amazing. They all play the role a bit differently which is very fascinating to watch, they're all fantastic dancers (with different strengths - which the director and choreographer have used really well) and all of them are extremely natural and unprecocious onstage which is a relief - as that's usually the problem I have with kids onstage - acting "cute" - and none of these boys fall back on that.
I honestly couldn't tell you which one I prefer because they're each so completely different - if they were all doing the role by some formula I might be able to say but they don't.
Now what would you say if today I started over?

Posted: 10/23/08 at 11:14amthey are all amazing. what's great about this show is that the show has been tailored to each of the kids. Because each boy has a different strength. But trust me after seeing one then u find urself wanting to see all of them.

I saw Kiril and David and they were both excellent. I'll be seeing Trent in the coming weeks.
But as I said in my review of both experiences, it was almost like I was seeing a different show. Each Billy seems to make each performance of the show different...like you are seeing three different interpretations of the character which therefore affect the story in various ways. Kiril, for me, played it a lot more dramatically, which worked..as a boy with a lot of sadness in him but who learns what it means to be happy. David played it more as an optimist...someone who always tries to look for the good in everything even though it may not always be there and I found the performance I saw with him to be less dramatic and more energized and fun. Both experiences, however, were stunning and breathtaking.

Posted: 10/23/08 at 6:50pmI have seen the three of them, and altough I can't say which Billy was better, because the three of them are doing a phenomenal job, I felt defetinely more connected with David Alvarez because his emotions are very well defined. It seems to me also that he was the best connected with the rest of the cast.

Posted: 10/23/08 at 8:01pmi really dont think that one billy is generally better than another. They all have different strengths, and their weaknesses are very minimal ( if any at all) They are all fantastic, and I really dont feel that comparing billys( who is better) is very appropriate.

Sorry, but I really enjoyed David Alvarez's protrayal of Billy. He's absolutely superb. He was on for BILLY last saturday and was breathtaking.

I saw Trent in London and loved him there.
That said, I'd be cool with whoever because from all reports they're all amazing.
Is there a set schedule for them yet or is it random?

However, the three of them are amazing, and show works with each of them perfectly. I just gave you my preference.

Posted: 10/23/08 at 11:52pmI really don't think there will ever be an answer to this question because it is SO subjective. I have seen the show multiple times and I saw it tonight with David. My friend and I had completely different opinions of the show and of him. I thought he was great but my personal favorite is definitely Trent. I think everyone just connects with different boys for the same reasons they casted them-- they all have different strengths. Luckily all three are incredible so it's not like one of them will fall behind; everyone will have their different fans.
