Most people on Reddit on the same thread believe Ragtime has it locked down as a win.

I would strongly disagree with that sentiment, but think it’s interesting consensus seems to be at opposite ends of the spectrum on the two big Broadway forums lol.

Reddit tends to be far more removed from the industry and NYC generally, to be fair. It’s more fandom-based.

Very well said lol. No disrespect to Reddit but I think you’re right.

I saw someone recently say in the Gold Derby message boards that they're convinced Ragtime is a lock for the win. This person is usually on the money when it comes to their Tony predictions. They even called The Outsiders winning Best Musical from the moment they saw it in previews. As of now, I disagree with them regarding what's winning Best Musical Revival.

This Cats is very different to the original which won the Tony for Best Musical/Score/Book the book has been substantially rewritten so could this Cats be the first revival to win the Tony for Best Book? It would also for the first musical to win Best Book twice?

My hot take is Titanique will be going home with one Tony Award: Best Book.

I'm not sure I see a path where it's actually cleared to be nominated for best book. I imagine that requires a substantial re-write and not so much a setting change. Structurally it's the same show.

While possible, I can see a world where Two Strangers gets the following for its prize haul: Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Score.

The text of Cats has not been changed for this production.
