Not counting regional the best touring I've seen are High School Musical Grease Mamma Mia Memphis and Motown

A ten PM show of Hedwig and the Angry Inch where a injured John Cameron Mitchell sat on my face during Sugar Daddy. Other Hedwig's brushed the face, John got allllll in there.
I don't think I washed my face for a week
(And.... trust me, darlings, it's more like six inches forward and 2 more inches forward for JCM, an Angry Inch he has NOT!)

I’ve only seen 19 shows on National Tour, and 2 on Broadway. So here’s mine...
Touring: “WICKED”
Broadway: “Hello, Dolly!”
There’s a lot of close 2nd’s to “WICKED”, and there were a LOT of very good performances I saw on tour. So many choices and so many different “types”, like trying to compare “Waitress” and “Fun Home” or “The Lion King” to Phantom of the Opera”, all of which I loved.

I’m sure it’s recency bias, but this Angels in America is up there. So is this Once On This Island.
Sara Bareilles’ “final” (before she came back) performance in Waitress really moved me. Her voice has such crazy dexterity, and she makes it sound so easy!
Speaking of final performances, I wasn’t there for it live but the recorded final performance of Smokey Joe’s Cafe has some of the best performances I’ve ever seen, namely from BJ Crosby and Victor Trent Cook.
As a kid, Les Mis was the first show I saw on Broadway and it totally blew my mind, so that has to be up there with my all-time favorites. That damn score still chokes me up 30 years later.
The City Center Encores Little Shop with Ellen Greene & Jake Gyllenhaal was something really special.
In the Heights had everything I want in a show.
And Book of Mormon, which I continue to find brilliant on every level.
I’ll leave it there... I’m sure if I put more thought into this I’d come up with others that eclipse these, but this is what comes to mind at the moment.

agree... i was sobbing at once on this island (SPOILER) when daniel breaks up with there and shes crying and starting singing that reprise "we'll race away in a car" 
and Sara's voice is insane. it sounded like they were playing acapella vocals through the speakers- thats how perfect it was.

Here Lies Loves at The Public. A thrilling and crazy fun experience that makes you get wrapped in the emotions and fame of a real-life villain.

Dear Evan Hansen is my favourite show I've seen
Also, the first show I ever saw was Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, I was about 6 and I LOVED it. I had the cassette tape of the 1991 London Palladium Recording and listened to it constantly and later had the CD too, knew all the words (and still do!), had my own choreography for the entire show so for that reason I will always love this show. My love for theatre started young hahahahaha

I'll never forget the closing performance of Hedwig. It was such a delight (albeit a bittersweet one) to be a part of that audience.

Equus was possibly the most beautiful and moving productions I've ever seen, it was just amazing theater and my only regret is only getting to see it once.
I also absolutely loved Next to Normal and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, both of which I've seen multiple times, something I can't say for any other show (I'll see Kiss Me Kate to that list next year, but that's also 2 different and completely different productions).

Les Miz in its first run at Montreal's St Denis Theatre. At some performances, the full show was performed in French.
Sitting next to Stephen Sondheim at London's Donmar Warehouse during a preview of Assassins.
The Will Roger Follies with its Tony Walton staircase.
The six million dollar set of Victor, Victoria. In its six-week Chicago tryout, the Act 2 outdoor cafe scene was moved to Act 1 for one performance only.
Catching a preview of the original Into the Woods at the Martin Beck.
Attending the 3-Act Fosse at the Ahmanson before the show moved to Broadway.
Three visits to the current NY production of Hello Dolly. A joyful treat each time.

First national tour of Rent at the Cleveland Playhouse.
I shared a box with other Rentheads.
Lena Horne's The Lady and Her Music at Starlight Musicals in Indianapolis. It was a muggy night, and she apologized for patting dry her forehead perspiration.

As I've posted more than a few times here . . .
Victor/Victoria
I loved-loved-loved the show, but it was memorable because it was my first trip to NYC, and walking through Times Square the first time was magical. (Now, after so many trips, I'm jaded and usually avoid the main streets so I can easily get to my destination LOL) I had just arrived at the airport (Newark) that morning, and my buddy who grew up in Manhattan and went to Julliard was my guide. He scored great seats, 10th row center. Seeing Julie Andrews so close was a memorable experience, as was a then unknown (to me) Rachel York, who through a friend I've since had the pleasure of meeting a few times after shows and just adore her. The music, the sets (I still vividly see the streets give way to Chez Louis, Toddy's flat, and the hotel) and the laugh-out-loud book, lyrics, and movements.
I have a lot of "best" shows but V/V is always on a level separate from the others for these reasons.

Rent on Broadway in 1999. I can never forget the headiness I experienced from the mixture of my first ever trip to NYC and the soundtrack finally coming alive in front of my eyes. It was the start of my love affair with the city and Broadway. Since then, being able to see the OBCs of Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen were amazing due in part to the energy of the audiences. And I’ll throw in Then She Fell for my first immersive experience, which was truly wild and unforgettable.

Several come to my mind.
Recency bias for sure, but I think Cursed Child is one of the most magical-in many ways-things I’ve ever seen onstage. Dear Evan Hansen is a beautiful show, and I’ll always feel lucky to have seen the original cast.
Matilda was absolutely gorgeous, as was the current Dolly revival and-forgive my mutiny-the current Carousel. Waitress touches me deeply. I loved seeing Sutton Foster in Sweet Charity, and the van Hove View from the Bridge was breathtaking.
I’ll always have a soft spot for Lion King and Wicked, as those shows caused me to fall in love with theatre.
I also ADORED the production of Sound of Music at the Stratford Festival in 2015. Stephanie Rothenberg was glorious, and I’d love for her to get a chance to carry a show in the states. She’s represented Anastasia at some press events recently, so I hope she plays Anya in the future.
In short, almost everything I see becomes a memorable experience. :)

I also loved Victor/ Victoria on Bway with Julie Andrews. Loved Kinky Boots- Beautiful, Iceman Cometh, Flora, The Red Menace with Liza- I was 13- Fela, The Impossible Years, August Osage County, MFL- the current one, Golden Boy, the Sher Revival- and so, so many more.
