Looking to get really good seats for Wicked in January (Christmas present), and while I'm used to Telecharge I'm very conflicted on how to get good Orchestra seats for this show without getting crushed on fees. Haven't seen the show since it opened, but want optimal seats at the best price if possible.

If you go through the Wicked website that's probably your best option. The only other is if you can go to the box office, or maybe use TodayTix. But that's it for Wicked.
Yes, the show's official seller is the best you can do. Wicked doesn't have discounts, they don't need to.
DO NOT USE Broadway.com for any show, for any reason. Horrible fees tacked on.

Every online ticket website will have fees. You can try third party sites like StubHub, but they’re going to have ridiculous fees and it’s unlikely you’ll get a good deal. Wicked is Wicked. Tickets don’t really sell for cheap. You’re most likely going to have to pay full price and the best option for that is going to be Telecharge.
Wicked's official seller is Broadway Direct, so they're who you should use:

Thank you! Any advice on best seating outside of the premium pricing? Is Center Orch Row Q too far, or should I shoot for a side orchestra seat a little closer?

I haven’t looked at Wicked recently but I recall it does dynamic pricing in-house depending on demand. Usually ticket prices in orchestra gets cheaper day-of or closer it gets to performance time.

I don't a lot about seat views at the Gershwin, but I believe row Q is the first row of stadium seating, so you're a step up from row P, which means great sightlines with no obstruction from heads in front.

And just adding on to the photo that BrodyFosse123 so thoughtfully provided, if you want to spend some time exploring various seating options around the Gershwin, just go here: https://aviewfrommyseat.com/venue/Gershwin+Theatre/ You can look by section and row and get a pretty good idea of how one location compares to another.
As a resource, I prefer SeatPlan:

Thanks, Taffy, I had forgotten about that option.

I sat in the last row of the house, and I didn't feel like I missed anything at all. I'm not sure if there's a bad seat in the house- actually, I revise that. You might want to avoid the sides of the orchestra. When I sat there, a lot of Thank Goodness was blocked and I couldn't see Glinda because of the ensemble.
