Posted: 9/14/13 at 12:46amListen everyone, I call it as I see it. The Show does NOT belong on a Bway stage, and I think you people feel that you have to like it because of the Allmighty Susan Stro. I mean c'mon, it was painful, the critics will KIll It and it will close shortly after. Please remember, I do this for a living, I sell tix to sooooo many people and I am in touch with this whole thing. The show is Garbage and I don't say that cause I have it out for anyone. It belongs in a Playhouse out in Iowa and not on a Bway stage. If your getting comp. tix, of course your gonna like it. Try paying $ 147.00 a ticket and tell me it was a dollar well spent. My last word is: Go out for a nice dinner, have some laughs, enjoy the sights and sounds of NYC and pass on the Big Fish. There will be other shows to see. Trust me on this. BTW Matilda tix are soooooo cheap in the secondary market, name your price and you'll get it. Show literally fell apart

Why a nice dinner why not another broadway show. What is bad about Big Fish anyway???
I do not think it will get the Tony But Norbert will.

Why do you care and why do you think it is your duty to trash a show? Just read a blog on a travel site from someone visiting New York (not in the business, but avid theatre goers). This trip they saw Kinky Boots (sadly without Billy Porter), Matilda, and Big Fish. Big Fish was their favorite -- calling it a "magnificent experience".
But of course, we know YOU are the expert, so who cares what anyone else thinks, right?

Posted: 9/14/13 at 9:38amHonestly, if you're such an expert in theater, I suggest you enroll in an elementary level grammar course and use a dictionary or spell check. I wouldn't bother taking your advice on anything, Mr. Know-It-All. From what I've seen, the audience absolutely loves it.

Rubbish. Sheer rubbish. Audiences are loving it. I have a similar job and have had lots of great feedback. And yes, I was comped, but still would have enjoyed it just as much if I had paid full price.
But true, Matilda is starting to become a little more available and secondary market prices are indeed dropping. I'll give the OP that one. Though it is in no danger of going anywhere soon.
Oy.

How can anyone take Stevie3's criticism seriously when there isn't a single specific example cited? It's obvious he hasn't even seen the show.

Posted: 9/14/13 at 11:43pmI hate to admit it but Stevie3's posts are almost becoming a guilty pleasure for me. They're so stupid and poorly written and he is such a complete buffoon it's actually entertaining.

Posted: 9/14/13 at 11:55pmStevie3 - I noticed you wrote a similar post criticizing Big Fish on September 10th with no substantial information supporting your so-called "expert opinion". Give it up already. You're wasting space with your idiotic ranting. Go have your NYC dinner - I have a funny feeling you believe you're an expert at choosing fine eateries too. Hot dog stand maybe?

I think at this point it is clear that this person just likes to come online and say nasty things about different shows to get a reaction. Sadly, I fell for it when he was on his Matilda kick and gave a lengthy response to what I liked about the show. All of our heated responses to his attacks are just encouraging him to post again.
On a side note, to the poster who used the term "retarded," please find another way to express your feelings. Using that word is offensive.

Everyone I know who saw it in previews in Chicago loved it.
This could be Bobby Steggert's break out role.

Because it's left not to do so.
