I'm beginning to wish the CD had never come out, as I can't stop playing it!!!
I'm loving Expressing Yourself - it makes me laugh every time I hear it ("Shake that bum billy - it's big enough!"
Other favourites from the CD are The Letter, Merry Xmas Maggie Thatcher, Electricity, The Letter (Reprise) and Deep Into The Ground. But I love the whole CD.
Does anyone have any information on when the score is coming out?

Posted: 12/9/05 at 9:16amWoo finally got the OCR today, its really good, and does the show real justice, apart from the angry dance, which i feel was over done, and the way Solidarity is sung within the dance is terrible. I don't mean to moan, but if your going to do something you might aswell do it properly. Other than that it is fantastic, and well done to everyone involved. Don't miss blue peter tonight.
I have a diff problem with the BE OCR disc#3029

OK, so Amazon went totally nutso and changed the delivery date on my (by DHL) version of Billy Elliot OCR, which I had ordered back in October when I saw the show the first 2 times. On ordering, it promised to have the discs to me by Dec. 7th. A couple days after getting it to DHL in Glasgow (yes, blame the Scots). But then just before the ship date, the order turned into a January 5-7 delivery, even though that included the DHL charge, which doubles the price of the whole operation. But I was loathe to cancel the order. And only this week did they finally get back to my complaint on the dates. Amazon is great for stuff as long as you don't have a unique query. They prefer that your query fits neatly into one of their dozens and dozens of "stock queries" and when they don't, they treat you like a Martian.
So Amazon released the CD to DHL in Glasgow, and it arrived on the 6th in the middle of the night in Edinburgh. They took less than 24 hours to get it to Wilmington, Ohio, just nearly closed down by a wicked snow storm out of Canada (at last, the common denominator, the damned Canadians!!!) and it's been stuck in some US Customs loop for 2 days. It could get to me today, but, I dunno.
When all the Amazon stuff was going on I despaired of ever seeing the disc, so I found HMV and they shipped the title on time and they use FedEx for real, though they have not gotten a tracking # to me yet, so I have no idea where the disc is.
It could arrive today, too.
So, I just wish I could add my 2 bits, though from the samples I've heard, I think I'll like the CD just fine. Of course, I only saw the stage show twice, so I'm in the small group of twosies here.

I was shocked at the size of the Billy House#3046
Posted: 12/9/05 at 5:38pm
I watched the Blue Peter show with Leon, and I was rocked when I saw the size of the Billy Elliot house. On the scale, style of a standard "wealthy" new suburban house anywhere in the U.S.
Oh, and walking into the dining area with all the Billys and other cast members just hanging out, was kind of "Oh My Ghod they're manufacturing castmembers." I mean, it was soooooooo cool!!!!
Oh, I just wanted to say, this little nook of the net is sooooooo special. Talk about kindred spirits.
It takes a village and all that. Glad to see a place where so many people cooperate for the benefit of everyone. I have only hopped through the Blue Peter vid, and the CDs arrived today, so I'm gonna be busy tonight!
Too bad about work and all..........
