Don't bother about nasty posts. I've seen James, and I know what he can do! Hopefully someday I will get to see Leon and Joey as well. I've heard a lot of good about their performances. So, Leon and Joey, one day I will be in the audience, and you'd better be as good as I've heard you are!

I have been reading this board for some weeks with interest and amusement, but I now feel compelled to post a reply. I too have enjoyed watching the show on more than one occasion, and I feel it is the best show I have ever seen (Broadway included) All the cast are superb and the company are to be congratulated on the beleivable characters they have created, non more so than the kids.
However I do feel that some not all, of you avid fans, now need reminding that some of the comments you make are extremely uncalled for, spiteful, and downright rude. What you need to remember is that these are CHILDREN!!!! you are talking about. They may be WORKING! in an adult industry but even so they are just regular kids doing an extremely hard task night after night. Along with the show never forget the other everyday things they have to contend with such as growing up!!, living away from home!, schooling, rehearsing, training etc etc. and all this before the age of 16. True they may be amazingly talented youngsters, but all the same at the end of the day they are only regular kids. Some of them may read these boards, the sensible ones may not, but never forget they too have friends and families, and there is nothing more hurtful than reading cruel comments, when all your child is doing is trying to entertain the likes of us.
Long may the show run, and I thank those of you who have posted some wonderful views and photos. But please think twice before posting and choose your words carefully, as LITTLE ONES may be reading !!!!!
Hi everyone - i've just joined too and agree with what 'swallow' says - but anyone who ciriticises the kids in the show must be crazy as well as nasty. I've only been able to see it a few times because its so expensive, but me and my friends from 6th form college all love the show and will come more soon when we've saved up.
'crystal_blue' please dont be upset by what anyone writes on here about James, we were lucky and got tickets for his last show and even though I only saw him that one time i will never forget the experience. And as for saying he's not good looking... please!!!! Get some glasses L.M! He's lucky he's not a couple of years older or half our year would be after him! And that goes for George too!
Before i go I also just have to say that although Hayden Gwynne is amazing and Joe Caffrey shows such emotion the times i have seen him I just adore Isaac James who plays the Older billy. It says in the program he is a model too, if anyone knows where we can find pictures of him modelling please let me know and make me very happy!
im not going to get upset about it because everyone knows apart from one person how good james is, evereyone especially me can see how much effort he put in as he is not part of an agency and hasnt been experianced to a west end show before.
You are right - James did a great job when he was playing Billy Elliot and for this he should be congratulated. He should also be wishes the best of luck with his GCSES - hopefully his will not get nervous about them - he shouldn't do as he performed excellently in front of hundreds of people.
I have added some pictures of James and Ashley's final night to the fansite gallery. Hope you'll enjoy them! (No pictures are from the actual performance or from the final medley!)
Although the posters are available in the theatre, you can't get them by mail-order or online (unless you pay hugely inflated prices on ebay). They're only available if you go to the show or the theatre lets you in when the show's not on to buy merchandise.
However, you could send a letter to the cast member of your choice and make sure you enclose a stamped envelope with your name and address on it. That's what I did with James and, although it took 3 months for a reply, I got one! You won't get one of the posters, but more likely a 6" x 4" photo.
Your letters should be sent to:
Cast Member name (eg George Maguire) c/o Stage Door Victoria Palace Theatre, Victoria Street London SW1E 5EA
If you do write, be patient as the cast get a lot of fan mail and it takes a while to get through!
Great photos of James and Ash's last night Johan which you've added to the picture gallery on the fansite.
Thanks everyone for all your comments and messages that you've all been writing on this board over the last couple of weeks while I've been away, especially keeping us all up to date on what's been going on in this show during James and Ash's departure and Leon and Joey joining the cast.
In answer to the question about seeing someone else performing the song "Electricity" on the cruise ship show, without the Geordie language seemed really bizarre. It was more like a version that Elton John would sing and there was definatly no backflip!
So does anyone have any more news about the cast album? Who will be on it? When it will be released? How much of the speaking part will be on this? What happens to the the other versions which don't get the final cut? Can we not get copies?
I'm in Sweden, unfortunately, and I didn't get to see the final performance, but the pictures were contributed by a very nice friend who attended the performance. If you have any more pictures, I would be most proud to host them on the fansite.
Hi Johan, i have visited the website, but i couldn't find the pictures about James and Ashley's final night in the image gallary. Does the pictures under any special links? any one can help? thanks!
In answer to your question, look under the "Photo Gallery Page" on the fansite, you will see that the top few photos are of the final curtain call of James and Ash's last night. If you click on the picture itself you can get a full scale copy of them.
Click on Image Gallery - the first 4 pics should be what you're looking for. Captions give the date (Sept.17th?)and say 'James and Ashley's Final Night' Click on each pic to enlarge. Super quality pics Johan. Thanks!
Hi guys thanks for your fast response! But I still can not find the pictures, I clicked the Image gallary link, and the first picture appears is Tom Higins the small boy, and looking down the last picture is James Lomas, Ryan Longbottom, George Maguire. I can not find anything about the last night..... : (
Just been reading through the thread and it seems this show has some really fanatical supporters. Well i agree the show is very good but far from perfect, the ensemble for instance are awful and bring nothing to the show leaving the young lead an awaful lot to do. The 3 debbies are average beyond belief,in the film debbie is integral to billys growing up but not here. Onto the boys Liam brilliant a star Leon very good will get better George fair performance but like someone has siad needs to learn about manners in theatre James average but you still enjoy his performance Regards a previous debate there is something disturbing about the posts about little boys. The big question is can the show go on without liam,he carryed george and james but can leon?
