Hi guys thanks for your fast response! But I still can not find the pictures, I clicked the Image gallary link, and the first picture appears is Tom Higins the small boy, and looking down the last picture is James Lomas, Ryan Longbottom, George Maguire. I can not find anything about the last night..... : (
Just been reading through the thread and it seems this show has some really fanatical supporters. Well i agree the show is very good but far from perfect, the ensemble for instance are awful and bring nothing to the show leaving the young lead an awaful lot to do. The 3 debbies are average beyond belief,in the film debbie is integral to billys growing up but not here. Onto the boys Liam brilliant a star Leon very good will get better George fair performance but like someone has siad needs to learn about manners in theatre James average but you still enjoy his performance Regards a previous debate there is something disturbing about the posts about little boys. The big question is can the show go on without liam,he carryed george and james but can leon?

Thank you Lucy! it works! I finally got to see the pictures! Thank s a lot! P.S your website looks great, I like the billy elliot part and your comments! Happy posting!
oh dear and this was such a nice board... their last night was such an experience. i promised i wouldnt spend any more money on the show now i had no proper excuse too but i want to see leon now, im intrigued! i do have some photos but they all have me in so they arent coming up here! nice ones on the other site there though, the flash photography was bound to happen. made it all that much more exciting
It's such a shame that this seems to be the main Billy Elliot message board that is currently on the web that the cast, crew and production team of the show reads and all they get these days is to read negative comments!
I realise that everyone has their own opinion and views but lets try and keep this board a nice place to visit?
Here's some good news - Elton John is setting up scholarships for the boys who play Billy. He wants to make the transition from starring on the West End to a more normal life easier for them, so is providing money for further studies in the performing arts.
As for MUSICALS FAN's criticism of the ensemble, I couldn't disagree more. They do a wonderful (and vital) job of creating the world around Billy. It's important that they *not* be a typical glitzy chorus line, but real-looking people who can also break into song and dance. Without the context they provide, Billy's story would be much less meaningful. The numerous ensemble songs make their contribution clear.
I also don't believe there has been anything "disturbing" posted here regarding the children in the show. They are the stars, and it would be more strange for fans not to write about them. And by the way, if children who can perform wonderfully in a very successful show are "average," I'd like to see the above average ones!
I saw the show again the other night and am gobsmacked at the talent displayed by all the young people, including Michael, Debbie, the ballet girls, the tall boy and the small boy. Not to mention the adult cast (again) lets keep the comments positive eh? any show that recieves a standing ovation night after night can't be all bad. All credit to the boys (all of them) who play Billy, they each bring their own unique talent to the character, none is better than the other.
I suggest a campaign of silence for the likes of LM, if people do not respond to his posts he will soon get fed up and go elswhere, it's obvious he gets a kick out of winding people up. Updated On: 9/26/05 at 12:03 PM
Hi Im hopefully goin 2 c billy elliot in october again. Hopefully george or liam will be playin on the nite n im gnna try n go 2 backstage dor get pics. Is billy elliot only on untill april then?
At the moment it is only extended until April '06 however it is being performed to Full Houses every night so, personally, I have no doubt it will be extended again.
All great things must come to pass. We know the first will soon be last and in the ground we may be lain , but a seed is sown to rise again.
with its immense sucess and packed house every night as you said, i do not hesitate to believe Billy Elliot will be around for a good while to come yet... yay!

I'm sure the show will be around for a LONG LONG time yet. Looking forward to when it's running on both Broadway and in the West End,it will be fasinating to see the difference. Regards the recent negative comments i agree with Electricity that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but as none of the bad stuff has been anyway constructive why are they bothering. So like he says lets try and keep it nice folks. As for LM he's obviously just a child and probably thinks its a "hoot" but don't worry i'm sure he will grow up one day!! Going back onto the cd,i feel if they cut the dialogue from it the songs will lose so much and would much rather keep it in. Looking forward to seeing Leon for the first time, from what i've read here he sounds like a more than welcome addition to the cast, have they changed the prog yet?

It's like McCarthyism around here! I agree that the show is fantastic and that the show is excellent, and all the children are great, but let people have their own opinions; it's not a crime, you know.
Fair point but remember these are only children and i'm sure some of the things that have been posted (especially about James) are designed to upset. Billy Elliot Message Board

I too hope that the show will be around for a very very long time, so lets just hope they keep managing to find suitable Billies and Michaels etc, in order to keep the show going, who have the talent required, and they will need many if they are going to continue being replaced every 6 months or so. Backtracking slightly about the changing of the program.. or is it programme? anyhoo.. i think yes of course they will change the program/me to add photos of the new cast members and eliminate the photos of James and Ash.. After all, when you go to the theatre and buy a programme you expect to see pictures of the playing cast - not of other people who used to be in the show. Also, if they are going to replace the children every 6months or so it would become slightly silly after a while if all the past Billys were still included in it..! However, i do think it would be a nice idea to have a page about 'Past Billys' or something - just with photos of the children, for interested fans.

chaning subject slightly again but just to let you know its spelt programme...the first time me and my mum went to see a show on the westend we had a MASSIVE discusion about how to spell it as i thought it was program but she throught programme so when we got home we looked in the dictionary and turns out she was right so its programme.
Did anyone else see the new new new Michael last night? i guess not or would be talking about it.. we went again and were a bit dissappointed to see people reading the program and reading the bits of paper about leon and joey which takes the surprise away from seeing who cycles on as michael... but then up on stage comes a lady (missed her name sorry) with a microphone and explains briefly about the teams of children who play the boys and that tonight unfortunately both the michael's are ill, and the other spare was in cumbria!!! we were scared that she was going to say that the show was off but no.. she says that tonight the role of micheal will be played by Liam Mower - and she explained that he is normally a billy!!! so we got to see two billes on one night!!! and yes - anyone who has seen liam before will know if course he was brilliant... such a professionall! also the little boy was obviously ill or something because he didnt come back after the interval.. i hope its not catching!!!
