I believe that the purpose of this board is so that individuals can provide insights and opinions of the musical. Instead, the threads have been filled with anger and stupidity. Might I suggest that the childish behaviour ends and that we return to some useful and interesting posts about the musical?
while i think yes, it's harder here i don't think that'll be a problem for the show. it's gotten all raves and all the critics practically worship it, but i just think it's too thouraghly british to work in the Us

Does anybody have any news as to whether Haydn Gwynne is renewing after December 3rd? I really hope so as I think she is so powerful in her portrayal of Mrs Wilkinson. She is a first rate actress and it really irritates me when I hear members of the audience say that the musical would be perfect if Julie Walters was in the role. At least Haydn can dance (as well as act brilliantly) which by her own admission Julie could not. The interactions between Haydn and the ballet girls are always very funny and the warmth between her and the Billys is so evocative as to be almost tangible. As a collector of stage and film memorabilia I have been trying to get Haydn's autograph for ages and have yet to see her exit the theatre by the stage door. Talking to a 'Stage Door Pub' regular the other day he had never seen her either. Can anyone help?
How about trying to send her a letter via victoria palace theatre, requesting her autograph. I heard some people did it this way to get billy's autographs. Just write it to victoria palace theatre. (It takes a long time though)
I don't think the show will work in broadway. The cast must be entirely british, and it costs a lot to transport them to the US.
My favourite scenes are "expressing yourself", "solidarity", and "Electricity". I noticed that Liam's and Leon's electricity are longer than george's and james'

Thanks for the info on Haydyn West End Fan 2 Guess I will just have to me more patient for that autograph. Something else has also intrigued me about the show. Night after night show after show Big Davey appears to consume the revolting burnt offering cooked by Tony said to be 'an English breakfast' plus the slice of bread with which has wiped the plate. Does the actor (Alex Delamere) regurgitate this concoction when he exits off the stage? If he does not, the poor man must suffer from chronic gastric upset as well as have a phenominally high cholesterol level. As a Health Promotion Specialist in the NHS in real life I am most concerned!
Thanks for telling us Haydn is staying Be Inspired, I really do think she was made for the part, with such a good singing voice adding to her acting and dancing talent. Does anyone know who will be playing Dad? I suppose they will be looking for a 'name' to replace Tim Healy, but any decision on this must be imminent, due to rehearsal time required. Any ideas?
Also, has anyone seen Chris Lennon as Tony? How does he compare with the incredibly passionate Joe Caffrey - I can understand how Joe will need a break from the role after clearly putting so much in every performance.
Personally I like Phil Snowdon as George, when I saw him I thought he was really good and didnt weaken the cast at all, but its a real shame Steve Elias is leaving as Mr Braithwaite. His dancing and singing is top quality and when i saw Alex fill in before he doubled up as Big Davey - this would leave a huge (literally) hole to fill when understudied.
julie walters danced very well in AA and while i do like haydn it would certanly not irritate me if one of britains finest actresses played the role again, leave off julie

Hey, ive found this new website that has quite a few new pictures of the cast performing, however for some reason the hyperlink doesnt work. i would love to send the pictures in although im not quite sure how to send them. If anybody knows how it would be great if you could help me. Thanks GMFan!! X
Hi, sorry i have tried but the link doesnt work, except i dont no why. Thats why i was askin if anybody knew how to send the pictures in, and then maybe someone could send them into the billy elliot fan site Thanks to anybody if they know how. Sorry to disappoint people but i have no idea why the link doesnt work GMFan!! X
Thanks for the info on Haydn 'Be Inspired'.Really good news. Also for the report on the 'breakfasts' (telepathy?).At least I can rest easy about Big Davey's health on that aspect. However I have noticed that the lolly given to him by the small boy prior to the miners descent into the mine was vigorously licked by the young lad before hand!!Risk of cross infection...cast director please note.I have also seen Joe's understudy perform and I think he has the potential to fill Joe Caffrey's shoes but has a bit to go yet. I also agree that Phil Snowden is good but at the curtain in the Christmas show routine (with his topical gags) you cannot match Trevor Fox as George and I had the pleasure of telling him so yesterday outside the stage door pub when he signed my programme. I shall miss you Trevor.
Hi, w - tonoto, ok i will try but it will probably take a lot of explain. In google if you type in billy elliot in images and go to page 22, on the 4th row down right at the end you will find a reddish looking picture of liam. Click on it and when it comes up in another screen click on search on the new window and another window should come up and then click login. in the search box type in billy elliot the musical and then pictures should b there. Im really sorry that i couldnt get the hyperlink to work and im not to gd at explain things. Hope you cn find it. Sorry, GMFan!! X
