Wow... all this talk of Billy has certainly picked up today!
Welcome to everyone of you who has joined us these last few days and anyone that has transfered across from the Whatsonstage board.
I guess this is now the main discussion site about Billy Elliot the Musical that is currently on the web?

I am new to the board. Been reading it since I went to see the show last week.Found out a few days ago that our neighbour is going to be one of the new ballet girls. She is a very talented dancer, it must be quite difficult to dance badly, but i thought the ballet girls were sooooo funny. They were excellent, yet rarely get a mention on this board. If anyone knows anything about ballet girls please post. She will start performing on week beginning 5th Dec. Great to hear that Hadyn is staying. Anyone know who will be taking over as Dad?

Just wondering...
Do we have to wear formal clothing (suit, etc) for 3rd december?
I heard when julie andrews came to Mary Poppins, the audiences had to wear formal clothes

hi all!#1438
Posted: 10/17/05 at 4:40pmThe ballet girls do a great job, as does everyone else in the show, how exciting to be starting in December.
hi all!#1439
Posted: 10/17/05 at 4:45pmI think on page 17 there is a link to a website set up by one group of ballet girls. I think it was that group that I saw. The ballet girls were so funny, they bring so much to the show. Your friend is so lucky to be in it.

I thought you all might like to know that even though Hadyn is staying on in the show after December 3rd, she won't be doing a full week! I've heard that she is having every Monday off to spend more time with her family.
I wonder who could be playing this role on her day off?
Hadyn Gwynne#1441

The Script#1442
Posted: 10/17/05 at 5:20pmIf there was anything in the script that you could change, what would it be? (Also, feel free to elaborate on what you would absolutely keep and why.)

This is definitely the day for new members - I've been watching this board for some time now, and just had to join in.
My choice for a script change - it is to ADD something. Whatever happened to the "Don't lose your blob" line from the film - I thought it was Soooo funny!

Alan mentioned the wrong music at the start of Billy's Royal Ballet audition. I seem to remember that at the beginning of the run, back in May, it was a different piece of music. Anyone else confirm this?

technically it's Liam in Jamie Bell's role since Jamie Bell originated the role and Liam is just following in Mr. Bell's footsteps.
Ms. Walters was very good, but i don't think she was as good as everyone said. Mr. Bell is superb (and if any of the three boys are as good as him they are lucky). I enjoyed Gary Lewis's preformance as Billy's father a lot. he is brilliant and Jamie Draven's Tony is so great! a well played role. As well as Stuart Wells' Michael.
the music in the picture is perfect, Mr. Daldry's direction is stunning...
i guess i just can't say enough good things about this movie!
