Just joined as I feel very strongly about the abuse going on here, I complained at whatsonstage and they have replied to the subject of the abuse and have warned the culprits, lets hope they learn and don't continue with the abuse. I won't hesitate to complain here as well.
On a positive note the show is great and I've been fortunate to see Liam, James and George with their respective partners and all were as good as each other but in different ways.
I am a Haydn Gwynne fan which has been my main reason for seeing the show but am totally hooked and hope to see Leon soon and I've also managed to get tickets for 3rd December evening show. www.haydngwynne-online.co.uk
Haydn is amazing, I really love the way she plays "Mrs Wilkinson". I've also been lucky enough to catch some of her performance in "Rome" which I'm guessing will be coming to the UK soon. Hers is only a small part but you almost wouldn't recognize her, she is so versatile.
All great things must come to pass. We know the first will soon be last and in the ground we may be lain , but a seed is sown to rise again.
Have not looked on site for a few days, goodness what a lot of posts. I support a mixed CD, it's fair to all concerned. Haydn Gwynne, fabulous. Trevor Fox fantastic and very natural. A big well done to the ballet girls, the unsung heroes in this show, they have grace and attitude, work hard and obviously love what they are doing. Big Dave we think you are great. To the tall boys and small boys out there, keep up the good work you play a vital role in the production as does everyone else. The set is stark and bleak as it should be, as the time in which the show is set was stark and bleak. Lets remember these miners were losing their way of life, employment, culture in fact everything they believed in, in addition they were being hammered in the press. It was a nasty time and one we should be ashamed of as a country. Political statement over, I would love to see a making of film. PS has anyone noticed mistake in new programme?
great news that liam is stayin and no surprise that hes lasted longest either.well done liam and lookin forward to travis, then we should av a top notch line up
BE a BE*liever feel the electricity in Liams dance------------------------WELCOME BAK LIAM THE SHOW NEEDS U
Rome at the moment is just billed as coming in Autumn 2005 so hopefully not long to wait for that show it looks good going by the clips I've seen.
On a different note can anyone tell me how to start a new topic in this Billy Elliot forum and how to access my PM's, any help would be appreciated, thanks. Updated On: 10/17/05 at 07:32 AM
When Liam does eventually bow out of this great show, like James and George before him, it will be a very sad day. Hopefully though, with Liam gone we will lose MF/LM from this board!!!
After eventually getting through all the messages here (which took me hours) it sounds as if you work at theatre, are you part of the acting team or behind the scenes or can't you say?
Thanks to all those who participated in Friday's Trivia quiz based on the musical. The answers are: 1.33 years 2.Marlon Brando 3.Cerebral Palsey 4.A spastic starfish 5.Funky Chicken 6.Leaks 7.Darlington Socialist Group Karate Club 8.Arthur Walmsley 9.Durham Cathedral 10.Thomas.
The best score I was aware of was 9 out of 10. Did anyone better that?
Congratulations to West End Fan 2 on being the winner of the free drink of his choice at the Stage Door Pub.The wrong music on Billy's audition tape was of course made famous by Benny Hill.
MF/LM i have one thing to say to you, and that is a competent and self-confident person is incapable of jealousy in anything. Jealousy is invariably a symptom of neurotic insecurity. These boy's have achieved more than you ever probably will in your whole life, and their only 14/15 years old! Get over your envy and resentment and then maybe you can appreciate Billy Elliot the Musical (and its cast) for the brilliant show it is.
Haha it is confirmed that MF and LM are the same people!! This is what it said on the WhatsonStage website:
'This topic is now being closed, as the one further up this board has had to be. It is unacceptable to be so rude and personally insulting. Yes MF and LM have the same - but sadly fake - email address, so I believe it is one person causing all this havoc. Any more threads like this will simply be deleted. Regards Caroline'
to be fair, LM has been ok recently, its just MF that still needs to open his eyes to the real world. By the way, my campaign for MF to grow up and get a life is still running. Please loin me and maybe he will see how ignorant he is being. (as if he didn't know already)!
Hey, i was just wondering if anybody else has been on the website that lin posted and has seen the clip of the show eventhough it is about 15 secs long and has a voice over. I just wanted to ask Lin where she got it from and if there are anymore clips she has? Thanks GMFan!! X (i hope this link works http://haydngwynne-online.co.uk/video2/be1.mpg)
Glad you like the video clip even though it's rather short, it was an item on BBC Breakfast quite a while ago now I think it was a complete interview with Elton John but I only kept the Haydn rehersal bit which is why it's very short! Sorry. There is also an interview with Haydn about Billy Elliot on the multimedia page.
