Wierd, wierd choice, but kinda good. She could sing the role, and probably act it---but there's something about her that just doesn't seem right for Glinda. We'll have to see how she does, I suppose.

actually a good choice. the shtick is almost exactly like Hope from Urinetown...Denis O'Hare knows about same-shtick shows, doesn't he?

i'm crushed but buoyed by the fact that this might be the disappointment that sends lbb into a spiral of wild bachanalia ending with her pole dancing at a club near me for change. and then i'll save her and she'll be mine! all mine!!

I didn't see her in Urinetown, but I've heard her. She's got a great voice!

But how does she look blonde? Is she a brunette, or was that just the picture?

hahah.......actually, I think she will be great in the role. I never saw her in Urinetown, but according to the cast album, she has a wonderful soprano (I don't know her full range). Also, I saw her at the LaChiusa concert at Lincoln Center when she sang "Little Fish". I really liked her, and think and hope she'll do well.

The question is, what is Laura Bell Bundy doing?

LBB was making negotiations with the producers but the final details could not be determined. I BELIEVE she will still be sticking around to be a standby.

yeah, but then it was retracted. Essentially, everyone published the story without double checking their facts.

Actually, what happened was a story was published on playbill.com based on information obtained from Laura's website which was posted prematurely by accident. Not faulting playbill, as the info was there for a few days. Playbill didn't cite producers nor any production spokesperson (and neither did the story that appeared here temporarily), but just the site. The information was removed from the site as negotiations were still underway. Both sites promptly removed their stories.

I don't know, I feel that a she rehearses and learns the role, she may really 'become' teh role. We'll see.
