They need to just put that thing out of its misery now.
This sounds like something out of the plot of one of the old Golddiggers movies.
$10 bucks says this never opens.
The marquee is presently being measured and trimmed to fit the Little Shubert. It will now be just a flaming "R"
Why do some people think this show will be bad? I'm just curious.
Exhibit A, mac.

Wow, this show seems to be suffering one setback after another....

I actually have tickets for tthe October 31 preview. Ive called Telecharge and they say they have not heard a thing and will not return my money until the producers notify them. Im from out of town, and want to get started finding something else...this was a last resort, as ive pretty much seen everything else throughout this year, and Glengarry isnt playing that night....The Heiress it is!
That video was better than I expected, considering all of the horrible, horrible opinions here. Certainly an improvement from the demo recording...
Wow.
Is this show about to go through some Spider-Man like drama??
It is mysterious, who's the dead millionaire?

Spidey didn't have money problems and is running 2 years so far. The piece of drek Rebecca will be lucky to run 2 months if it ever opens. It is doomed and is a laughing stock. The Shuberts aren't going to have much patience and will soon book another show into The Broadhurst- a much desired theater. And it will have no advance because people aren't going to take a chance on a show that has money problems. It is a pain to get refunds and find another show to see- especially during Nov-Dec.

But Joe Bloggs on the street, the main source of ticket sales, is very unlikely to know that a show has money problems.
Look, it's going to flop. Hard. And I speak as someone who owns two cast albums of the show. But it's not going to flop because they can't raise the investment (although one suspects the difficulties they've had are because investors aren't stupid).
I'd love to meet someone who'd stump up 4.5 mil as a single investor! You could almost stage an entire musical in the West End for that kind of money!

Just get it over and done with. If it was some kind of a masterpiece in the wings, SOMEONE would come to the rescue. Enough is enough.
A friend of mine saw it in Vienna and raved about it. He was worried, however, abut it being translated to english.

Wow that song in the clip is horrendous.

The story has hit the press and New York theater goers are very savvy and love all of the gossip. And group sales and theater party agents will not want to go through all of the drama with their clients over a show that may not even get mounted. The show means nothing to tourists. And yes, only an idiot would pull a Rosie O'Donnnell these days and put so much of their money into a show. G-d rest his soul whoever he was.
Gerard Alessandrini is probably conceiving a new sketch for FORBIDDEN BROADWAY as we speak...

It's getting really frustrating to see how incompetently the producers of this production have prepped the show...
Really pedestrian marketing, especially featuring the montage of the Stuttgart production dubbed with the very poor quality English demo from nearly a decade ago.
Everything seems to be on the cheap, and they have failed to try and strike any chord as to what can make this piece exciting.
I really like this musical to a point (usually more for the interpretations of the roles over the years), but feel that it would be a lot better if it took a step forward in the bravery department and focused on the ambiguities of sexuality that I think are pretty latent throughout the original novel, and in the way the role Mrs Danvers is written here.
When they begin auditions for the lead role in MATILDA in a few weeks. maybe they should also audition for "I," as one of those girls will probably be old enough to play the role by the time they raise all the money.
Is it realistic to think this show (or any other for that matter) can raise $4.5 million in 2 weeks?
