Ramin making his Broadway debut is probably the only reason I'm excited about this production. I'm not a Caissie Levy fan at all. (I've been blessed with gorgeous-voiced Fantines-a wailing, shrieking one is not what I had in mind.) Nikki M. James seems like a very strong choice as Eponine. Will Swenson will be good I think, too.
I'd heard Samantha Hill was coming over as Cosette, too.
Hopefully Sierra will be the "bigger" replacement just like Lea Salonga was.
Am I the only one who finds this casting completely UNinspired? I feel like Levy is a terrible choice for Fantine. Vulnerable isn't exactly a word in her vocabulary. Swenson will NOT be able to sing Stars. Like even a little bit. And isn't Nikki a tad old to be playing Eponine? Girl is 32. I know Celia was 30 when she played it, but she reads as 12 in everything.

I heard Cosette is a newcomer who is the child of a well known musical theatre lyricist and director.

Maybe Norm Lewis as Thenardier?

Intriguing! The heat is on.

THIS.
B12B, Shanice played Eponine in the original production and at the time the Thernardier's were both white (including young Eponine).
Well I'm excited. Yes, it's not the most daring casting, but I think it's really solid. I for one am so excited for Caissie Levy, I think she will turn a fantastic performance, but then again I've always been a fan. Also, I think Nikki M. James reads pretty young. I'm pretty much only worried for Will Swenson.

I feel like it's gotten to the point where they're just ****ting on the role of Jean Valjean at this point. Not that I don't like Ramin Karimloo, because I do, BUT HE RIFFS IN BRING HIM HOME, WHO DOES THAT!?!?!
Anyway, I'm excited to see Nikki M. James returning as Eponine. Will Swenson I really enjoy but it's a strange as hell casting choice vocally. Caissie Levy as Fantine, I love Cassie and am super happy for her but some how I'm not sure the gravity that some other actresses gave to the part will be there.
I'm standing by the fact that all the past Elphabas are going to come in to play Fantine. I can see it now.
I can't deal with Ramin as Valjean, I would have preferred just about anyone else with the exception of Hugh Jackman.

Personally I love this and this will have me rushing to buy tickets asap
Ramin making his Broadway debut is exciting and Nikki M James as Eponine has me half-hard. Absolutely loved her in Mormon and I think she will kill "On My Own"

Then don't buy a damn ticket.
I'd love to see David Alan Grier as Thenardier.

How will you find the strength to wake up in the morning knowing Ramin is Valjean? Should we put you on life support?

God forbid someone have an opinion.
I like the man, he's an excellent actor and a great singer. I just don't like him as Valjean. I never said anything disparaging about the man or his work as an actor only that I think he doesn't make even a mildly satisfactory Valjean.

THAT.

I will say though I'm very excited for Nikki as Eponine. I think she really has the vulnerability to shine in the role. I'll probably see it for her, and who knows I might be surprised by Karimloo. lol

Is it John Caird's daughter?
I wish Sierra was Fantine to have a reunion with Ramin. And I wish Sam was Eponine

Why does everyone hear call him Ramin, like you've all met at a cocktail party in the Hamptons?
Because autocorrect keeps changing his last name to Kangaroo.
