And, if she shaves her head again, it might just be time to revive WIT.

Yes, Britney was in NYC last week, but the Broadway thing is likely just a rumor. She was actually here with a camera crew filming her trip, probably for some sort of reality thing.
She had a bunch of pre-arranged activities for the cameras to film -- a trip to a school, a few semi-fake shopping excursions, and her Broadway visit. It makes for better television to say that she's "considering" a role on Broadway.

If the likes of Rita Wilson did it, I'm sure Britney Spears can do it. Plus, look at her life, she IS Roxie Hart.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

i love Broadway and i love Britney.....but Britney is too big of a star to do broadway. A show could NEVER pay her what she would want to make.
as for stamina, she sure as hell could do 8 shows a week!
have you seen one of her tours?! they are generally longer than a Broadway show, and plays a different city everyday, so at least 7 shows a week. she would have no problem.
and, what role would she play in "in the heights??!?!" its an all (well, most) latino cast?!??!?
haha, love it!
but make sure to get her new single on iTunes today!!!!!

Are you kidding? Patti leaves in March to go on tour with Patinkin and it becomes Britney Spears as Mama Rose!

I don't think Brittney is too big a star to do Broadway. A lot of stars as big as she is have done Broadway. And as far as pay, correct me if I am wrong someone, but all of those big stars go in knowing they aren't getting paid the big bucks they are used to. But I assume that those big stars don't have to worry about it. And they do limited runs. I just can't see her doing 8 shows a week. And at this point in her "comeback" I don't think she would be a really big draw. JMO

She was rumoured in one of the newspapers in the UK to be going into the West End in a Streetcar Named Desire revival. I'm a (not so secret) britney fan, and it would be hilarious to see her on Broadway. If you search some of her (really old) videos as a kid, she had quite a voice on her, but she nearly always mimes nowadays. Who knows if she still has got a voice.

Tweek the lyrics and lines a bit in Avenue Q, and make her "Gary Coleman" . . . .
LOL
Or (as far as that's concerned) Spamalot has made enough fun of her . . . Lady of the Lake. I know she doesn't have the killer voice that most Lady's have had, but why not. That show's sales are in the toilet.

Britney is not coming to Broadway. She is in the middle of a HUGE comeback.
Blackout was last year, right? I'm just saying, it's not like she's been away for a long time. Whether or not her music career bounces back, I just hope she finally gets it together and becomes a mature adult.

The Weisslers have been trying to get her since Sweet Charity. I think she passed on it, because she just had her son.

I hear she's replacing Kristen Scott Thomas in The Seagull.

This rumor happens like every two months.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

I heard the Sweet Charity and Sandy things. I would definitely see her, but she's not doing anything on B'way for a while - she's obviously promoting her music the way she used to promote it, before the breakdown. Since she's releasing an album December 2nd, she will be doing extensive promo for it into the first months of 2009, and then she has said she's going to be doing on a world tour. That does not leave any time for Broadway probably until 2010.

I agree with what's been said.
No way is she doing this any time soon, assuming there's any truth in the matter, she has a come back to conquer and faffing about on Broadway really wont be anyone in the Britney Camp's priority.
I also agree that her voice is in no way capable of anything on Broadway, it would need to be a starring role (she IS Britney Spears after all) so Roxy/Velma could work...but she won't have the stamina to pull that off, so its a bit of a catch 22.

"She could also replace Christy Carlson Romano in Avenue Q."
I hope you are kidding.
"This rumor happens like every two months."
Ditto. Back when she first came out, there were rumors of her and some NSYNC members doing a remake of Grease...Grease 3, or something like that.

I don't see her playing ANYTHING on broadway. It's not that she doesn't have the stamina, she doesn't have the talent.

For people who are so picky about grammar and spelling, her name is B-R-I-T-N-E-Y.
She would be awesome.
