Massive blizzard apparently on its way to NYC tomorrow. I have tickets for a show tomorrow night, so just wanted to start a dialogue in case cancellations happen over the next 24 hours.
Stay safe and warm, everybody!

Ugh, I hope the snow isn’t too insane! I have HELLO, DOLLY tickets for tomorrow that I got 8 months ago!
Supposedly most of the heavy stuff is going to be in the morning. Hope that bodes well for evening shows!

Weather Update: Storm Team 4 Schools Closed Thursday as Blizzard, Winter Storm Warnings Issued Across Tri-State
New York City schools will be closed Thursday as a major snowstorm bears down on the tri-state, prompting blizzard and winter storm warnings for parts of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Storm Team 4 is predicting up to 6 to 9 inches locally of snow for some spots and punishing wind gusts as high as 55 mph, capable of toppling power lines and tree limbs.
The show must go on...heard Bette is nursing a cold today. Hopefully, she won't use the snow as an excuse to stay home if she's ill tomorrow.

As rehearsed multiple times on here when everyone freaks out over the weather, nothing matters unless the subway and commuter rail shuts down. As long as actors & crew can get there, the show goes on... Tomorrow is no different. Just keep your eye on MTA commuter alerts.
When did not even a foot of snow become a massive blizzard? Lol my goodness this city has become filled with scared babies that can't handle a little snow when they don't even have to drive. It's amazing.

A blizzard is defined as a winter storm with high winds (in excess of 35mph) and low visibility. Though characterized by lots of snow (Which accounts for the low visibility), there is no specific accumulation requirement in the definition.
And while New York City will most likely be spared, the east coast is going to be hammered. I think downplaying the storms severity is pretty insulting to the people who will be adversely affected.

This thread is about Broadway shows possibly being canceled, which they won't because we won't be getting a massive blizzard here. The mayor is a moron too so it's not surprising he's overreacting to this. Insulting? Lol sure.
Broadway and the Blizzard: Questions and Answers
(I'm not saying there will be a blizzard, but this addresses the four questions that NY theatergoers ask when a blizzard threatens:
1. How bad will it get?
2. Will the shows be canceled?
3. Will shows offer a snow day discount?
4. What if I can’t make it to a show that hasn’t been canceled?
Um, a blizzard? As mentioned above, only 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected and yes... unless the MTA shuts down, everything is still open as usual. School closures solely occurred because it'll be snowing heavy all morning (it begins shortly around 2am). Snow is expected to be over by 3pm so an 8pm showtime won't be affected one bit. Even with worst snow, stores/restaurants remained open and Broadway didn't shut down.

Broadway has shut down many times because of snow, but that won't happen with this storm.

We'll, whatever you call this storm, it's making me stay an extra night in NYC. So I get to see an extra show! Thanks, snow!
My apologies if I made the storm seem any bigger than it's set out to be! When I posted this thread, I had heard from a friend who made it sound a bit more dramatic than I guess it'll actually be, ha. But the snow is coming down pretty steadily right now. Hope everybody's staying warm!

I wonder if there will be snow day discounts for shows. I feel like people on Long Island, NJ, Westchester, etc. don't necessarily want to trek into the city tonight. I'm at work already (it was a pretty lousy commute due to the wind), and I'd be happy to see a show tonight. :)

As expected so far, this is the latest from the Broadway League:

During the snowstorm in February 2017, lots of shows released discount codes as the day went on and the snow piled up. Please post if you hear of any!
As long as subways are still running, there’s virtually no chance shows will be cancelled. If you live in the city, bad weather days are often the best times to get tickets, often at good discounts.

When I lived in the tri-state area, it seemed like we had a snow day on a Wednesday at least once every school year. It was so great to get that call in the morning, relax for a few hours, then hop on the subway and head to Times Square and pick a show.

We have 3 tickets to Come Fly Away tonight, but apparently United Airlines took the blizzard seriously, because we are stranded in Houston. Does anyone know a way I could sell and transfer them to someone in the city who wants to go?
If they are PDF files for the tickets, try stub hub. I think you also could just forward the email to someone you know.
Those looking for discounts- TodayTix is offering a $15 discount on the app. Code: SNOWDAY15

It's possible that you could do an exchange depending in where you bought the ticket. Since you're coming in from out of town though, that may not be helpful.
Also I got the notification for TodayTix as well! The $15 essentially trims the service fee for a Broadway show but it's super helpful. I got a $29 ticket for Farinelli at the end of January.
There are a lot of shows on TKTS booth, including Band's Visit and Meteor Shower:
