Jamie Lloyd Company has parted ways with ATG, so not sure how that’ll effect the transfer.

I don't forsee the ATG/Lloyd situation changing anything for Sunset.
He said "I am looking forward to continuing our relationship with Adam Speers and everyone at ATG Productions when we collaborate on projects in the future."
I don't know what the financial arrangement between Lloyd Co and ATG is, but ATG probably didn't HAVE to lead-produce every Lloyd show (same with Sonia Friedman Productions, which it owns), it just worked out that way. These things also don't dissolve overnight; they likely knew this was happening ahead of the Sunset Bway announcement.
I’m sure you’re right but I just wasn’t sure if that now means “Sunset” will definitely go to an ATG house.
It sounds like JLC’s departure from ATG is just the end of a contract that is no longer needed for Jamie Lloyd to produce work. He’s a known commodity in the international theatre world, so the contractual relationship is no longer needed. However, it sounds like they’ll collaborate in the future as co-producers; very likely including Sunset Blvd., which was shepherded by ATG.

Sunset IS already an ATG-led production, they've sent out press releases saying that

Correct. That is why I don't foresee anything changing for SUNSET. And like I said above, this has probably all been in the works for months.
Somewhat similarly, if a writer moves to a new agency after a deal is done on a certain project but the project hasn't actually occurred yet, 9 times out of 10, the original agent will continue to rep them for that project and collect the commission from it.
The Hudson theatre will be free. Idk, when I think of the st James I think of big splashy musical comedies with tap dancing and such. Sunset seems better suited for the Hudson or studio 54

Just because the production is bare bones does not mean this production is small. It ain’t going in those theaters, ok?
Just because it has a big cast does not mean the production is big. And you act like I give a sh*t? And it wont sell 1700 seats a night. Good luck.
I saw it 4 times, I think I know what the production is like. Tale a breath and put down the keyboard, Flash. This is Broadway, not geopolitics. You’ll be ok whatever theatre this ends up in, what show will be a bigger hit and whatever else thread you chose to start tonight.
Aww look at you rooting for this show. You’ll be crying when it flops. Broadway is a vanity project according to those creatives

Adding Flash to the mute list immediately because what in the world?
I think people forget also about backstage space for such a large cast, but also orchestra size. This show has a big orchestra, so it needs the bigger theater to sell the tickets to afford the space.
It’s 18 pieces right? Thats the same amount as bad Cinderella had. Less than what Sweeney has, phantom had, and less than the 30 piece orchestras at the Beaumont.
What's your point? The Imperial is like 200 seats less than the St. James. And the Hudson is far less. It's still a big show even though there may not be giant set pieces.
