Yay for "Shrek" for going out with such a big bang! Wow, "Wicked" is still breaking records after 6 years.

What a great week for many shows! Since I've been a member of BWW, I've noticed one show that has survived the highs and lows of the Broadway theatre world. To me, "Chicago" is a survivor. Mon congrats to the cast and crew! from RC in Austin, Texas

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Wow...great jump for HAIR! And Night Music breaking $1 million! How terrific! And I know Present Laughter only had one performance that week, but it is still funny/weird to see $88,000 on the boards.

If only Ragtime had these numbers last month...

Good week overall! I guess we'll be seeing pigs flying in the air the day Wicked closes.

Confused over the "Wicked" comment. It did 100% which is all it can do with no standing room.

Congrats to Shrek on going out with a bang.

Seriously, where were those grosses/people for Ragtime when they weren't closing?!

Ave ticket price for Wicked is $146?! And that's the average price?

I'm sorry that's just ridiculous. I don't know why, but I just noticed it. I thought, "Wait, how is show that's been running at capacity for years breaking new records?"

I understand the cost of tickets is a complex issue, including Unions, advertising costs, real estate, etc. But producers of new productions set tickets prices based several factors, one being going rate of product.

With hits like these charging more and more for premium tickets, I don't see how the average cost of a new (non-hit, yet) show won't keep creeping up.

Sorry for the rant. I just hate seeing theatre will itself the way of opera, and price itself far out of relevancy.

I'm happy for South Pacific, it's poised to become the longest running revival of a Rogers and Hammerstein musical, surpassing the '90's The King and I.

Good week. I echo everyone's comments on SHREK and RAGTIME, and I'm thrilled to see NEXT TO NORMAL over $500K for the first time ever!

Now we can see why the producers extended for Ragtime.
These are the numbers that Finian's Rainbow needed from the beginning to secure a great run on Broadway, maybe the smaller house was definitely needed for this to be a great run, too.

That's the holiday pricing. Most shows raise their prices this particular week. Wicked's regular (non-premium) top ticket price is $126 (slightly higher on weekends).

No problem. Hope you found some food. Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 1/3 They also have the most seats to sell, so of course they're going to gross more.

"In The Heights" was only slightly above 80. I wonder why this show didn't get a higher holiday bump?

with this week being so much busier, why didn't Ragtime choose to do 9 performances this week?? They could of done Mon-Wed @ 8pm, Wed & Thur @ 2pm, Fri-DARK, Sat @ 2pm & 8pm, Sun @ 2pm & 7pm. They might have broke the 1 million dollar mark in grosses if they did that and might have remained open after Jan. 10.

And I'm loving the numbers by Hair, Chicago, Next 2 Normal & Mary Poppins. Plus 11 shows over 1 million(with Wicked over 2 million). Of course, next week some of these numbers will be cut in half.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

N2N did 9 shows - which is the reason for the high gross, fyi. Obviously, a smart move.

Can't really be happy or sad for any shows based on these numbers. Hopefully the dropoff over the next few weeks isn't too drastic.
