Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 10/9/22

Solid week for most. I'm assuming ASL has a poor advance for the winter, hence them closing in January.

Overall, much better than last week!

I agree Leopoldstadt is one of the big surprises this week. Plus the general frequency of 6-figure increases, which I guess is partly because the last few weeks weren’t as good, plus the holiday weekend.

Pleasantly surprised about WOODS' grosses, as someone who prophesied its doom after SB's departure.

LEOPOLDSTADT numbers are tremendous, and in line with whT LEHMAN TRILOGY did last year. Similar audience demographics too. There's been much talk about the traditional theatregoers (or in more crass terms, the "old jews" who were once the staple of Broadway plays) not returning with the frequency of pre-pandemic, but I think this illustrates that they'll still show up for certain titles.

SIX is a slot machine.

Yes.

Also, this past week is generally a stronger week thanks to the long weekend. Don’t expect between now and thanksgiving to look like this for many shows.
