Oh Mary is also an extremely undemanding straight play with a total cast, including understudies, of 8. It almost certainly still broke even last week- I would be surprised if it didn’t also still turn a profit.

I do recall that when Julie Benko went on for Michele - if memory serves, she had the Thursday nights, not the matinees - the show was on TKTS and even TDF. Of course, Benko had a solid reputation by the time Michele replaced Feldman, and many, many people enjoyed her Fanny. Benko played the role 180 times, a formidable accomplishment in such a star-challenged revival.

yes she did Thursdays which were much cheaper tickets and covered Lea's  leave and on those occasions the box office cratered.

She was the actual star before Lea came in. Afterall, the NYT profile about the show was about Julie and how she became integral to the show. She was stunning as Fanny, as was Lea of course.

Right with Julie at the helm the shpw on average was making about 600K a week, with Lea at the helm it averaged about 1.6 million a week.
