Guys & Dolls bringing 96% is great!! Good to see Shrek go up a little. It's a shame that Story of My Life is only bringing in 33%.

Glad to see Shrek doing well again. Nice bump for Mamma Mia as well.

But The Story Of My Life... such a shame. I truly hope it'll do better next week.

I'm actually pretty pleased with these numbers considering the time of year. I just wish August & Avenue Q would bring in better numbers.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Bye bye Story of My Life.

I was surprised by Guys and Dolls attendance but for that attendance the grosses weren't great.

With the production size of Shrek, I'd actually think it's still losing money.

I agree with KNOB at least partially being responsible for the Shrek bump. As my daughter mad eher way down the autograph table, the performers were asking what each kid was seeing that night and the vast majority of the smaller ones said "Shrek."

We, on the other hand, contributed to "In The Heights."

It has already been reported that the weekly nut for SHREK is a whopping $800,000

Not many weeks has it grossed above that.

Its days are numbered.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I'm glad PAL JOEY is bringing in very healthy numbers during its extension. YAY for Matthew, Stockard and Martha!

Dreamworks is not going to let it's first venture fail so easily. Even if it continues to loose money for months they will keep it propped up until the end of summer.

Anyone know why they've got a "Last Week Figure" for Guys and Dolls when it wasn't actually on? Technically it should only have the "This Week Figure". The figure isn't great but (makes sense for its 5 performances only) the % is though.

Glad to see Pal Joey going well. Increased from last week which is great to see. Definitely worth the extension it got.

Guys and Dolls only had 5 performances which is part of the low gross.

Shrek will last until Tony time, no worries.
And I believe that its nut is 700k, not 800k.

I am going to be SO sad to see August go.

I agree about AUGUST...but it's a huge consolation that it recouped over the summer.

Very rare for a straight play...but so well deserved. AUGUST is brilliant.

That figure of $420,592, reported as the prior week for Guys & Dolls, is actually the gross for the last week of the run of the 1992 revival, when it closed in 1995.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

I've tried to find the answer for this but to no avail. Does anyone know what the budget for The 39 Steps is? Because of its sometimes less than healthy grosses it's been pulling in, I'm trying to see if it's broken even, since I haven't heard anything about it.

The 39 Steps has a very low break even and makes a profit almost every week. I know that it had recouped a good portion of its investment prior to its move, but will spend the next few months making up the cost of the move before it can pay back in full. It is a very economical show to run and there is really not much that is "less than healthy" in its grosses. As with last week, $190,000 net, 73% attendance and a $55 average ticket price is fine for that show and if it is running at that level in February, it could run that way for a good long while to come.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

The less than healthy I was referring to was some of the grosses it was pulling back in Oct/Nov last year when it had fallen below the 70% mark. Thanks for clearing it up though, it's one of those shows that is adaptable regardless of where it is being performed.

It has.

But I mean everyone's acting like it's going completely down the tubes. It's still grossing close to (if not over) 1.2 million a week. It'll be fine.

Oh, and can PHANTOM please close already? It's not doing that well and it's already ran way longer than it should have. I mean, we get it, it's a phenomenon. But it's time for it to go now...last time I saw it, it was just a wreck.

Wishing shows to close is uncalled for and ignorant. If you don't like them, that's your problem, but they're a great source of income not only to performers and staff, and also help bring audience members to other Broadway shows.
