Agreed. I am already assuming that nothing is going to change its trajectory to be a financial failure, but there have been a lot of really entertaining shows that were financial failures despite decent runs. The longer the show runs, the more employment, the more audiences get to enjoy it (or, admittedly, not), the more viable it becomes for a lot of regional productions, etc.
I have to admit that I have not seen it yet (out of town), only have a couple of remaining slots to fill in my next trip (and I am not likely to see this at that time, because of the competition for those slots); however, if it is still opened in October, when I return to Florida, it has an increased likelihood of being one of the shows that I see.

Looks like Summer only had 4 performances last week as previews started on 3/28/18 with a percentage capacity sold of 91.12% according to playbill. I guess we will see what will happen in the coming weeks.
I know its not surprising now, but I continue to be blown away by Come From Away's numbers.
Excluding the first weekend and first full week of performances, Dolly just had their best week of Bernadette performances ever! So happy for the show and especially Bernadette.

Was this market ever in question?!?

I'm confused by this comment? Maybe I'm reading the numbers wrong, but Carousel only brought in 66% of it's gross potential. This only bettered three other musicals and was behind SpongeBob, Once on this Island and Bronx tale. I would have thought spring break week would have been stronger for a well-known title.
I don’t think Carousel is a title that teenagers and young adults out of Spring Break are going to gravitate towards.
freewilma, gross potential is one of the less-important numbers to look at here. For example, you can have a gross "potential" of $2 million in a house with tons of seats, but if your production only costs $750K a week to operate, then making $1 million ("50% of gross potential" still solidly puts you in the green.
Surpassing $1 million is a big accomplishment for a show like Carousel in this day and age.
Yes Carousel has made over 1mil for three weeks in a row. Idk if they can keep up this momentum but a show without a big, costly megastar like Bette Midler that's making over 1mil is definitely making money.

What's the capitalization costs for ''Mean Girls'', does anyone knows?
The numbers are great and I hope it can stay this way.
Also, the ''Summer'' numbers.. wow!

are you really expecting someone to post that when the answer is linked in the original post in this thread?

Sorry, Hogan. I thought I looked carefully before posting. I wonder if it was added later.
I thought that was a rhetoric question.
