Oof for 9 to 5...I know it's only the first week of previews, but still, $50 average ticket price is atrocious, especially for such a lavish show.
On the other hand, things are looking up in Duloc...and hippie-land for that matter...

I have no worries that 9 TO 5 will be a huge hit...it's just off to a slow start as are most shows.
NEXT TO NORMAL's uphill climb keeps seeming more and more uphill every week.
And good for HAIR!!

HELLO Shrek, Chicago, and Hair! GREAT week. Ouch normal and Irena. 9 to 5 is still in previews,it has nothing to worry about. Ticket prices will go up and it'll do just fine. God of Carnage was AWESOME this week!!! GREAT to see a play doing well. It looks like ROA is gradually raising their ticket prices. AWESOME week!!! I'm in a good mood now :)

ROA 71% Gross % of potential. I'd say that is good.
Jekyll & Hyde back on Broadway! / Rock of Ages - 5 Tony nominations! Awesome!

So many shows doing well this week! How nice to see!
Hooray for HAIR! And let's hope strong reviews give N2N the boost it deserves!

99% attendence for 9 to 5 is really good, no? I think the amount of comps may have brought the avg. ticket price down to that much. I really don't know how it all works, but I think it's off to a great start.

Thank goodness for the holidays!
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

It's not the percentage of attendance that was worrying PG2, it's the ticket average and the weekly gross.
I'm sure it'll take off; I can't imagine word of mouth being negative. Tourists will LOVE it.

The last time the Palace had a sell-out show was Aida, which opened nine years ago. Pretty long stretch for such a prominent theater.

Well, apparently, WSS set a record for the Palace.

Great great week. Can't wait for n2n to get reviewed this week to [hopefully] bump the attendance. It was clear that this show wasn't going to sell well in previews as it's success will be based on reviews/word of mouth/and [hopefully, again] nominations.

eeeek Next to Normal
It needs to start going up and fast. It's too darn good a show to struggle and not last!
But YAY for pretty much everything else! Nice week

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

People can say what they want about WSS, but man this production is HUGE. A tour is already in the works. I remember when certain posters said this production won't make it to 2010, LOL.

Next to Normal also only played 7 performances last week. If you factor in the gross from the missing show, they made close to what they made last week. Which, nevertheless, is not nearly enough. It needs the reviews and positive word of mouth to survive.

Well, isn't it safe to assume Next to Normal was papered for critics? I know I read somewhere Brantley was there this week.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

It makes me sad that Rock of Ages does so well while Next to Normal is struggling.

What is ROA's approx. weekly nut? It can't be doing that well with an average ticket of $50
