MACBETH had a down week, and still managed to outgross JEKYLL & HYDE despite having two less performances and being in a theatre nearly half the size.

The Marquis might as well just be demolished the way this decade's gone so far.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

Good to see that CINDERELLA's capacity has risen slightly but grosses still drooping.

Kinky Boots and Motown have been the surprises of the season for me... I did not think either of them would do as well as they are.

I thought Motown would struggle, so very surprised there, Always thought Kinky Boots would do well, it is a subject matter that appeals to theatre goers.

Yes ouch Spiderman that is hemorrhaging $200k in peak tourist season, how long has this show got in its reserve?

The spring grosses for 'Cinderella' have also been stronger than the ones for the last two original musicals that played at the Broadway Theatre, 'Shrek the Musical' and 'Sister Act'.

'Annie' is really going to need Jane Lynch to boost its grosses soon.

I'm hearing whispers that once TONY nominations are out, that Cinderella is going to have one hell of a campaign. They've apparently lined up quite a few talk shows and other appearances.

Jane will make a splash in Annie, then the Palace will be available for the fall.

I know this show won't be coming in for at least another season or two, but I think HUNCHBACK would be a great fit for the Palace.

You know how theatre goers love musicals about struggling shoe factories and drag queens...

LOL, In fairness before you try and slay me dead, with your poisoned barbed arrows, I always though Kinky Boots would appeal to theatre goer as you point out...... 'struggling shoe factory' bang on for the average Broadway theatre goer, no would go because of 'drag queens' surely, that must be a big turn off for Broadway?

I don't even know what you're saying with all your commas instead of periods and multiple ellipses.

Surely people loved BILLY ELLIOT and THE FULL MONTY for their working-class-industrial-town-settings and not anything else, right?

Also, I'm assuming the running costs for ANN and MARY are lower, but would anyone else consider them in danger of closing up shop early if the Tony's let them down tomorrow? JEKYLL looks like the only other show that'll struggle to stay open for the summer.

"Jane will make a splash in Annie, then the Palace will be available for the fall."

Or 'Annie' might play through the holidays and close in January. It did very over Christmas and New Year's. During one of those weeks, it made $2 million. It's also great show for the holiday season. However, there's a chance, and probably a good one, that it won't stay open much longer after Lynch leaves unless they get another big name to play Miss Hannigan.

If it goes down well in London maybe Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will move into the Palace after Annie. Id imagine they will want a large theatre

And MARY's only until the following week, 7/7. ANN goes on another two months to 9/1.

I'm just wondering, if the numbers are bad enough (or if they get even worse), those three seem like the only ones left in danger of pulling the plug. Now that we've lost HARDBODY and TIFFANY'S, it looks like everything else is in good shape and that's good news.

"JEKYLL is only aaround until June 30...It simply just won't extend"

"Only" two months can seem like a mighty long time if you're hemorrhaging money week by week. Same is true of ANN and MARY. I wouldn't be surprised by any of those limited runs getting even more limited for better or worse.

Of the three, I'm certainly rooting for MARY to find an audience most of all.

I am not sure how much “Jekyll” will benefit by summer tourism season starting, either (the little of it that it will be open for). After having toured already, that automatically cuts down the amount of tourists who might have seen it in NYC had they not already in their hometowns.

KINKY is kickin' butts. better numbers than MATILDA.
PIPPIN'S number went down(slightly) after reviews, maybe Daphne Rubin was correct.

kinky wont' last. CIndy Lauper has been on every talk show trumping her show..that will die off as will the show. When wives ask their husbands "what would you rather see, a show about drag queens and boots or anything else.." they will pick anything else. Ask Priscilla.

Yes, because heterosexual married men comprise such a huge portion of the Broadway audience anyway. I don't know what crystal ball you're looking into regarding Kinky Boots, but you might want to check to see if it is cracked. The grosses speak for themselves.
