I don't know that 45 more seats would be considered "a lot larger.""
The Golden has 802 seats.

The Golden has about 800 seats. It is literally less than half the capacity of the Curran.
You can see through photos geotagged on Instagram that the Ed Mirvish theater (not the Princess of Wales which houses TLK) is still in the Cursed Child setup, while the Curran has been reverted back.
Which makes sense since the latter only changed the proscenium and closed earlier, while Mirvish did a seven months-long $5million renovation. David Mirvish did an interview with the closing announcement saying he intended to keep the space as is and have smaller productions that would fit the space (since the HP production only lasted 13 months). The theater is currently booked through November.

How long can Stranger Things last at these numbers? This is a very expensive show to run.

Through the end of the holiday season, beginning of 2026 closing date?

I have to think the final season of the TV show dropping in the fall will help its numbers (not sure why they didn't time it to that in the first place)
It may help its numbers but I honestly thought this would be a much bigger hit out of the gate and was actually decent. Nope. The Marquis Theater is truly awful but perhaps more and more people realize this is garbage tourist bait?

Cursed Harry Potter closed down during the Pandemic at the Curran (1667 seats) , then reopened with the new shorter version but did not return to strong business. It closed about two months later. Several other shows including Kimberley Akimbo played the Curran this year..
Parade was supposed to play the Curran, but changed to the biggest barn of all, the Orpehum (seating 2250+) . It is not selling well and would have done much better at the Curran. It currently offers $49 discount tickers for all performances which includes main floor seats. At the Curran it could have commanded much better full priced seats with 700 fewer seats. Locals prefer shows at the Curran.
