SPARE PARTS at THEATER ROW Feb 27 2026, 06:21:48 PM
Caught the first preview. Had no knowledge of the show going in other than Rob McClure was in it.
I was so surprised by the end of it to find this is now one of my favorite plays. The 4 actors are truly fantastic and the subject matter fascinating. It was nice to see Rob McClure in a very different role in a very different type of production than what he's usually known for. The biggest surprise to me was Jonny-James Kajoba. He was truly spectacular in his role - just perfect

I really really want to see this. Darko Tresnjak and Alexander Dodge area fabulous team. And the talent in the cast is amazing. I hope it comes to NY soon.

Any news or insights on "THE OTHER PLACE" at the Shed? Feb 4 2026, 07:10:13 PM
I enjoyed this. Tobias Menzies and Emma D'arcy are extraordinary with strong performances from the supporting cast. Grounded, natural acting where the tension builds throughout. If you liked Oedipus, this has a similar feel but on a smaller, more intimate scale.

Amahl and the Night Visitors Nov 11 2025, 12:01:46 PM
This should be rehearsing soon. Does anyone know when they will announce the full cast and creative? There is very little information on this production. Want to know more about who's attached as I'm really thrilled there will be a staged production of this in NYC.

Kyoto at the Mitzi Newhouse Nov 4 2025, 11:05:16 AM
This was truly excellent. It's not a feel good show but it has heart warming moments. Really highlighted how difficult these negotiations were in an engaging, thrilling way. Not easy to do with the subject matter at heart. In the end you appreciate the different players in the event and what they had to do to make history. And I also felt sad that something like this would be impossible to achieve today. If you can get a ticket I definitely would recommend you see this.

Wildhorn to score CHIMNEY TOWN musical adaptation Oct 31 2025, 09:45:55 AM
Fan123 said: "A version of this show has been around for a few years already. They even officially released a full pro-shot for free online, with English subtitles, of the older version (which I think hassongs by Japanese composer/s, not by Wildhorn):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYPy4vh3_dQ. (Not sure if that will be taken down eventually.)
According to the website athttps://musical.chimney.town/,when put through Google Translate, "From the beginning, the aim of this work was to be performed around the world, starting with Broadway in New York, and a company has now been established in New York, where they are continuing to update the work and work with local creators as they work towards a Broadway performance."
Incidentally, I think the story has a Halloween theme, which is timely. Here's a song from the old version on that theme:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpCjYh2bNfw."
Thank you for the info!

Anyone hear anything about this? All I know is that Joyce DiDonato is the Mother and it's being directed by Kenny Leon. And seen advertising. But I've heard nothing else about this production and who's involved.

Quite frankly Broadway needs to focus on ensuring there is a reliable base of theater lovers in the NYC metro area that can come to Manhattan frequently an

I take the train in. I look for discounted tickets and have a cheap dinner. There are ways around things if one just looks for them."
Some people can do that and some people can't. You are part of the 13% for whom this works. There are tons of places without easy train access outside of Manhattan. At a certain point it's just not worth it or convenient for many people. The answer is not to make it more expensive and inconvenient for people outside of Manhattan to watch theater.
