It was always a vanity project for OD Company. They rushed it to Broadway just to get ahead of A.R.T.’s production after tepid reception at Papermill.

You could have went even said to them that when they announced their closing, tickets were MUCH cheaper but because of the demand they increased, so there were affordable tickets available at one point. 😜

$1M feels very low for a show of that scale.

$1M in costs means needing to sell about $1.25M gross to cover costs (fees/theatre share/royalties off the top). I'd wager that's not far off. So they're fine at $1.4M, but not by much, andit's nowhere near enough to ever recoup."

Recouping isn't a binary. They'll make some of the money back on Broadway, then the rest with tours and overseas. They must be thrilled with almost pulling up to $1.5 million a week.
