My guess would be another $100k+ this week, and then again for 2 or 3 more weeks after Sunday night's awards show, then a closing notice.
And is it Edie's money being invested, or Paul Simon's? Does Edie have money? I remember buying her New Bohemians album - what? 25? 30 years ago? But has anything else she's done achieved that kind of success since?

Not pretty - this week will be worse sadly-the week before the Tonys is always slow. Now you see why King and I posted its notice. And looks like some others to follow. The marquees this summer will be very dark.

Almost every show was down this week, big time. The non existant economic recovery is starting to effect Broadway

undercoverusher, that's because last week was a holiday weekend. Numbers are always down the week following a holiday.
LesWickedly, I didn't mention Fun Home because they've already recouped and won Tonys. Bright Star hasn't.

I'm worried about The Color Purple. All the added promotion since JHud left isn't doing much for the BO numbers it would seem. To be fair, their net expense probably went down a bit after her departure depending on her salary. Let's hope Tony performance helps!

Fun Home really doesn't look like it'll be around past September.
I really wonder how much time is left for Fiddler, too. Is everyone simply Fiddler-ed out?

Can anyone name a show or shows in recent memory that struggled for a time to find an audience, but eventually became financial success stories? I'm thinking about Bright Star, and I'm wondering if there are any other shows that it can compare to. Has anything done as poorly as Bright Star is doing now and managed to turn things around? Was Gentleman's Guide in as dire straits before they won the Tony?

I believe it was and that Parnes, the very same lead producer, had even prepared to close down its production following the Tony Awards. Someone with actual numbers could probably verify this but to my recollection, yes. It seems comparable. Unfortunately for them, this year is not the same (with the addition of HAMILTON). Oh, well!

In light of what a great season this was, I find it particularly sad how many theaters are likely going to be empty this summer....

Broadway can very much be like The Hunger Games. Some may ignore it, but as we love to root for some shows, the reality is that most won't live very long.

I meant great in terms of high quality shows. (And I'm interested in both plays and musicals.). So many wonderful offerings this year. I didn't mean financially great.

I know it's to be expected with the audience it brings in, but I'm glad to see School of Rock with such great numbers early on in the summer season. I imagine it will be a pretty good summer for them. I really, really loved the show and have been recommending it to everyone!

I think a Tony win for Erivo & a best revival will boost sales for THE COLOR PURPLE. Can't see JERSEY BOYS, KINKY BOOTS or BRIGHT STAR lasting much longer.

ACL - Jersey Boys has been pulling low numbers since the beginning of 2015, if Kinky Boots follows the same path it would last another year. I would think they both have the same carrying costs. Kinky Boots' numbers are starting to look lilke Jersey Boys from a year ago. But agree I don't see Jersey Boys recent numbers supporting it beyond the summer. There's a lot of traffic waiting in the wings for the fall.
