Chicago has definitely benefited from having Pamela Anderson as Roxie.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Looks like reviews have finally caught up to Macbeth. It also looks like most performances are up on TDF for June.

Paradise Square and The Minutes are likely going to be posting a closing notice soon. I can't imagine The Minutes holds on until its scheduled closing... But Hangmen did, which is an accomplishment. I can't believe that has done as poorly as it has. I thought for sure it would have been a solid hit.

They need to figure out what stunt casting for Company STAT. I can't imagine Tony wins will give much of a bump. Most people who care about the Tony's have already seen it.

Also nervous about Come From Away still...

I don't believe Paradise Square has even made $500k on a weekly basis. What kind of wizardry is keeping that show open? Wow.

HANGMEN was only ever a 10-week run, not overly ambitious in terms of how limited runs go, and it was announced like a last minute entry to the season. While I'm sad it's doing so poorly (though I can see how it wouldn't draw much of a crowd outside the theatre diehards and the morbidly curious), I can see how it would make it to the end just fine.

The fact that FOR COLORED GIRLS walloped PARADISE SQUARE, while having 1/2 the theatre capacity and 1/6 of the total cast, HAS to be embarrassing for the latter. I only JUST started seeing commercials for PS this week on TV and I kept thinking that so many I knew have seen it and outright dismissed it so I think Sunday night is going to be the TKO.

THE MINUTES I could see folding early since it's not a Roundabout production and they are on a commercial contract, so it's not like they are beholden to subscribers. I thought it was a fine show, but I think it's been a tough sell, especially with the loss of it's major star in the interim.

It also looks like TAKE ME OUT is going out strong and I can only imagine that gross increasing with how obscenely high the grosses are for the final performances.

Yes, I'm aware. Which is why I said I couldn't imagine it lasting through it's current scheduled closing.

Apologies, n2nbaby. I somehow didn't catch that.

Maybe, but they sure had one hell of a head-start, and that surely helped them sprint toward the recoupment line. I wonder what their capitalization and running cost is...even if they start declining to $800k/week, I could see them recouping.

Don't forget you can always look at a show's gross history to confirm stuff like this - but you're correct, and not only that: it actually has never even cracked $400K.

Obviously a lot of these shows are seeing a natural decline, but I also wonder if it's compounded by Tony comps - I especially wonder if some of the shows with low-5-figure declines can be attributed to Tony comps.

I’m extremely nervous about come from away…while it has had a very good run, something tells me it’s going to announce a closing sooner rather than later Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 6/5/22

Hard to say. Comparing it to Dear Evan Hansen, DEH has controversies surrounding it that CFA doesn't have, not to mention I think the film definitely hurt the show's rep. I'm sure the low sales significantly contributed to DEH's announced closing, but I don't think that's the only reason. Plus CFA is (I would imagine) one of the less expensive shows to run on a weekly basis, so the numbers for it, while concerning, and while much lower than pre-shutdown, are probably not as concerning as those same numbers would be for a more elaborate/expensive show.

And, I would be surprised if Jenn Colella's return did not give it a boost, even if it's only a small one. Besides, now that her limited run has been announced, unless there was an extenuating circumstance, I definitely don't see a closing date before late summer/early fall at the soonest, which would still give people at least most of the summer to see it. (Which I myself am very much hopefully doing next month).

Eek that's quite a drop for Hadestown this week. I know Andre left but I can't imagine that's the reason.

Beetlejuice is getting back into a groove as summer nears (down slightly this week but still above $1mil)

Company is making me a little nervous and Funny Girl is having ever so slight declines each week. Still in good shape but I think worth keeping an eye on given how revivals can sometimes start strong and fall off quickly.

GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY only came back for 7 weeks explicitly to capitalize on Tony Awards buzz (and probably some luck with MOCKINGBIRD having complications with their transfer). They never really did that hot, and they're closing as of 6/19, so analyzing their grosses is kind of moot.

Does anyone know why Mr. Saturday Night isn't listed in the grosses? Trying to decide if I should buy a ticket for my visit in July now or if it will still be on TKTS.
