Average ticket price for Schmigadoon and The Lost Boys are pretty depressing.

I really don't understand why Wicked is still not at TKTS, given an average ticket price of $91. It's probably be higher if it went on TKTS.

I would love to know what Tom Felton is getting paid for his tie in HP. The role is virtually non-existent and the grosses have been ridiculously positively impacted by his tenure.

Wow! How fortunate for you to have so many Broadway stars share their private thoughts and feelings with you -- even though the minute they turn their backs, you go slithering away to betray their confidences on a public chat board! Guess we should call you Addison DeHalfwit!

Nothing makes me happier than seeing that bitter loser still stewing about Ragtime's dominance this past season. Imagine letting Lear DeBessonet of all people live in your head rent-free.

And still being SO bitter about… Ragtime. Of all productions.

It’s just bizarre how people (coffebreak, quizking) continue to be snarky and dismissive of the massive success of this production, which by the way led by theatre vets without a celeb in sight. Can we at least celebrate that?

Little you know.... It's not just Ragtime. IT's a culmination of her tenure at NYCC where she earned the reputation simple as that. Ragtime is a great show - but I'll say it again and again - it wasn't a good production of a great show. But great cast. Debesonnet doesn't live anywhere for me. I (and MANY others) wanted a great production for Ragtime - we didn't get one the show deserved on Broadway. More unfortunate than anything. Cats, however, not the best show but the best revival of one.

We know. Whenever there's something negative to be said about one of your various theatrical bêtes noires, you will say it again and again. And present it as the "absolute truth."

As others have suggested, do we really need to re-litigate the direction of Ragtime in a thread about grosses? If those who want to continue the discussion ad nauseam, can I suggest starting a separate thread?

The production was successful in terms of getting butts in seats and selling out at a premium in a bad time for commercial theater. Good for them. It doesn’t change my mind about the quality of the production from my point of view.

WICKED has been massively successful and it’s less than a decade younger than I am. Do I care for the show or the production? Not particularly

Well that’s one batSH*T crazy thread. Now about those grosses!
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

It's so sad they can't admit simple facts about how extraordinary Ragtime was and how incredibly successful it was. They refuse based on their own feelings and it's so pathetic. One made hating The Lost Boys their entire personality, while the other called people names ("Cauliflower Heads) who dared to leave Cats at intermission, including people on here. Being delusional for months must have been so exhausting.

And still being SO bitter about… Ragtime. Of all productions.

When the reviews for Cats came out, one of those sad posters quoted a song lyric from Ragtime to mock it. It was from Wheels of a Dream (you know, the song about hope for justice, equality, and a life free from discrimination sung by two People of Color). It was one of the more disgusting things Ive ever read and he was dragged all over the internet for it, as he should have been.

On one my trips to Ragtime, the gentlemen beside me leaned over after Act 1 and said "This show is not for the simple".

Indeed.
