*runs from computer screaming in terror*
Wow, AVENUE Q took a steep dip.
One would think that CHICAGO would be selling better with Usher.
Ouch! HAIRSPRAY is painful! So is RENT!
TARZAN is way down. Good for them.
THE PRODUCERS is cringe-worthy this week.
It's not looking good for Robbie Hart...
Expected numbers but..
damn look at the numbers/attendance for Haispray, Rent, and The Producers. Pretty awful.

Ouch ouch ouch.
Glad Sweeney closed when it did, because I might fall over and die if I saw it in the 30s.

Well, here's the annual post-Labor Day bloodbath -- as I predicted last week only Wicked and Jersey Boys were pretty much uneffected. Double digit drops in attendance for most shows with the struggling ones -- Wedding Singer at $367K ....ouch -- particularly hit hard.
This happens every September.

I'll partially quote The History Boys:
Posner (sung): Bye-bye Wedding Singer.
Well, school started again this week, so I would imagine that had a impact on shows like Wicked and Rent.
Wow, not a good week for most shows. The Wedding Singer and The Producers were hit especially hard. But I feel really sorry for Avenue Q. I hate seeing it in the 70's.

Wicked? Dropping .2% is NOTHING for this time of year. It only sold 32 fewer seats than it did last week. That's an incredibly impressive showing.
RENT is another story.
I think that's the lowest I've ever seen for The Lion King.
RENT is typically wishy-washy all year round, though.
Some weeks it's in the 90's, other's it's in the 40's.

wow, those groesses look horrible!
but as said before- it's September
but THE PRODUCERS looks grim, TARZAN- i cant believe that, and WEDDING SINGER... i feel like crying
I find the drastic drops of Spamalot and Spelling Bee quite interesting.

i didnt even notice SPAMALOT! in the 70's for attendance?
wow, a bunch of people must leave after Labor Day...
i still cant believe about WEDDING SINGER
I'm sad for TWS too, but its inevitable. Guess I should try to go again this week.
Also, I find it interesting that MAMMA MIA was barely hit.
Hey everybody there's a party over at the Winter Garden!
P.S. bwayondabrain I love your AVATAR!!!

Reasons for poor week.Every business has up and downs it doesn't reflect on your product. If your at 90% one week and 60% the next there are external forces at work namely the ticket buyers who have other priorities.
1.Kids back to school
2.Didn't want to visit NY during about the time of 9-11
3.Competition from the NYMF
4.People closing up cottages ,digging out longjohns.
5.Just recieved their credit card bills from summer.BooHoo
6. Need to get their wind back.

Ouch! Bad week on Broadway.
Margo, I was thinking that with Wicked, anything below 100% is a rarity, so a .2% drop technically is having an "impact" when compared with their own attendance, instead of compared to the attendance of other shows.
Wow, tough week.
Sad to see "Tarzan" down so much. But, happy (and somewhat surprised) "Drowsy" didn't take as much of a fall as some of the other shows.

This was the Lion King's third lowest attendance. The week of Sept. 10, 2001 was it's lowest ever @ 53.3%(for obvious reasons) & the week of Jan. 23, 2006 saw only 68.4%. I highly doubt TLK is losing any steam though. It'll still be around for many more years.
The Producers, however, are another story. It's never been at the bottom of the attendance. I give it two more years.
WOW!
I can't look at them!
At least everything went down versus one show!
I haven't seen Phantom like that since...ever!
Have to wonder how much longer the Wedding Singer can last. It hasn't had a good week in quite some time. Sept. & Oct. are considered the dead season(as well as Jan. & Feb.). We need to get used to these numbers as they'll last until late October.
Well.. atleast it will be fun to watch the numbers go back up!

POTO had attendance and gross like that for years until about the 2003/04 season. But the do have their bad weeks now and then.
Wicked is usually under 100% during February and March as well, so no apocylptic predictions are needed.
