Is anyone going to Broadway Meets Country on Monday night? I haven't seen much about it, but I would love to hear about it from anyone who goes. Some amazing names in it- Brian d'Arcy James, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Ben Vereen, Julia Murney, Laura Bell Bundy. Anyone who goes please let us know how it is!

If this event was being held in New York, I would defintely
be there. But its in Nashville Tenn.

Too bad for me, because I would love to see this.
Amazing performers will be there and it would be really nice to
see Broadway Stars perform Country songs and Country Stars perform Broadway tunes.

If anyone goes, please be sure to post comments. Would love to hear how it was.

It was in NYC last year, Lincoln Center I believe. If they continue the event I think they are going to alternate locations between Broadway and the Mid West.

Ben Vereen's name seems out of place there haha.

I'm going! I'll do my best to remember what I can when it comes to my review, but I'm not gonna promise too much, b/c I just want to go and have fun, and not worry about remembering things. I'm sure it will be a very memorable night, though, so again, I'll do my best.

Me too! Does anyone know if they're planning on televising this? It's all part of the CMA awards so I thought they might. I didn't see anything about it on the site, though.

I got the impression that they weren't going to do that, but I don't know. I wish they would, though.

It's not going to be televised since it is a fundraiser for Actors Fund and TPAC Education. VIP tickets are $500. People wouldn't pay that if they could watch it on TV. I wish I was there tonight, but I had rehearsal for a show I'm in.

Oh, and Nashville is not a bad place to visit. Don't let the fact that a Broadway event is being held in Nashville instead of NYC stop you from making a trip here. We actually have a lot of "artistic class" here and even one of the world's finest symphony halls. I hope this event continues to rotate between the two destinations. It's a fantastic idea! Broadway meets Country and Country Meets Broadway.

I was there!!! It was one of the most amazing nights of live performance ive witnessed in my life!!! The standouts were Trisha Yearwood singing Somewhere (WSS) and Raul Malo singing Bring Him Home (Les Mis) both got standing ovations along with the finale performed by the entire cast of The Lion King which is touring in Nashville, going to see it in 2 hours!!!

anyways heres the rundown:

Lee ann womack- Dont rain on my parade, one great opener!

Then Micheal Cerveris- Days go by keith urban-okay but forgettable

Renee elise goldsberry and josh gracin all i ask of you- she was good, he was not so good!

Felicia P. Fields came out next and she was incredibly amazing. When i talked to her after the show for about ten minutes i got the news she was doing the cp tour! but it was already announced earlier. She told me she extended til january and Brandon might be doing the tour, although he doesnt know!!

Julia Murney- something more- Very energetic and very fun!

Ben Vereen-wichatan line or something?- was expecting a little more

Lorrie Morgan- Maybe next time CAbaret- Very good and very theatrical. one of my favorites

The two standouts were just so amazing that i cant even find words to describe them- Trisha Yearwood and Raul Malo

Brian Darcy James did a duet with Chris young which was from city of angels which i loved!!!

Julia Murney sang a duet from sideshow with one of the backup singers that was one of the most heartfelt performances ive ever seen.

BRIAN STOKES MITCHELL- enough said, he performed his own song and it was clever, well sung, and perfectly presented

Laura Bell Bundy- one of the nicest people to talk to and definitly looked like she was having the most fun out there when she did her interpretation of the gretchen wilson song!! I asked her about Legally Blonde and the music and she seemed very optimistic about it!!! she even sang about 10 seconds of a song to me.

I dont have the sheet in front of me to tell you all but overall was an incredible performance!!!

Sounds like a great night! Glad it was so much fun!

*cries* I can't believe I missed that. I love that song (I will never leave you). When she said at her concert she was doing a duet from Side Show I was so mad I couldn't see it. Glad it was good.
